Actually, yeah, some of the lower spices are redundant? They're all redundant now. Neutron and Muon are again it, anything else is not really worth it to anyone, especially since action stats aren't that big a deal any more. I understand why they did this, Wes, but it still sucks that, once again, they could only just nerf the bajeesus out of us instead of taking two minutes to come up with a more creative solution.
And yeah, they're dumb for not telling us this. If they had told us WHY I'm sure we could have had that better solution for them. But they don't wanna talk about things with us, they wanna tell us, at the last second, "Sorry, there's a fundamental piece of information that makes all your ideas worthless, so we're sticking to the nerf plan." It's lazy is what it is. Why think when you can nerf?
And as for people hating spice stacking and what not, that's great. But now we're down to two or three useful spices again, like we were before chef foods took those away. People will still by neutron and muon, but forget anything else. Because yet again, our spices received no new functionality. They take and they take and they take from our profession but they hardly EVER add anything.

Well, in light of the new patch, I am giving up smuggler.
That was my only bread winner and now that they nerf'd it, I am done. All combat profession.

I have to agree. Spices never stacked in the past, the crazy stacking was obviouly not intended.

Have you tried out any of the new combat functionality that smuggler has since the CU?

Haven't been a smuggler very long, eh?
Oh, and smuggler is a very viable combat profession....IF you think before you fight.
And I for one am very happy that they fixed the spice stacking issue.

Yeah the combat functionality is better, but if i was all pysched about combat I'd be a commando or something. All I'm saying is they do not and can not understand what we need as SMUGGLERS. It'd be nice if the few smuggling things we have actually were desireable.

QFE.
Too many people look at Smuggler as a dirty combat profession. They don't look at it asthe content profession it should be.

One thought here, it would be great for spices to affect other abilities.
Man, I would sell a nice chunk of Gunjack if it actually effected Ranged Attacks.
I mean, with a name like that, it SHOULD boost general ranged accuracy and speed.
I think the problem with lower end spices being less of use will be a dead issue when we no longer craft them. I think the spices tree would be better used for... lets see, what do we need?...SMUGGLING?!!

Technically, it's "Delinquincy" now. So, like Caylin pushed for, the door is a little wider for what can go in it.
Fake IDs even
But as far as spices, I'd be happy to toss the current batch of stuff we have now. Just be rid of it all. Then replace it with a few spices like Glitterstim, Ryll, Carsunum, and Andris that we get from missions. Give each one something more than a + or - buff to HAM such as movement, combat, crafting, healing bonuses, ect ect and it'd be alright with me.
The key is to "make people want it".

I don't understand why some spices aren't now used for other, non-combat related stuff, such as Crafting Experimentation, Battle Fatigue Healing or Creature Taming.

I'm hoping we will see these types of bonus effectswith the smuggler re-vamp.
Look at it this way, If they implement the new vision of spice, being a smuggled item rather than a crafted item, then they are probably doing it the right way. Why change the spice effects now, then allow people to mass produce millions of units of it, only later to change the way of aquiring it in the future.
Right now spices do little more then they did before the CU.Muon and Pixie are the only ones which are really worth using. However, nowthey are actually competetive with foods again.

I hear ya. But I think that the spice stacking was not what we needed as smugglers either. Spice stacking was basically bringing back the old God Mode that doc buffs used to give.
