Thread: Tiggs is making forum rounds... Quick! Hide the spice!

No, there is no reason for me to avoid any thread at all. I have asked for the information from the three professions for now for a reason. You guys went ahead and posted yours ahead of time and that is fine. Not quite the format I had asked for but that isn't for this thread. At any rate I will be reading that post and commenting once I have gone through all of the information.
Very well then...
And in case you haven't figured it out, I'm one of the die-hard cynics on this forum...

You are allowed your opinions and feelings and I recognize them as being valid. As many others have noticed I am stopping by all of the forums to say Hi before the getting to know you post is made. So let's start from there and then work on earning trust. Fair enough?

Tiggs, welcome to the Smuggler forum. Please remember that as a rule smugglers:
1) Have been promised love / pushed aside approx. 157 times since launch.
2) Have thusly become rather ... untrusting of Red Names
3) Are actually one the best, most helpfull, and most dedicated communities on the forums despirte their desperate misery
4) Are rather untrusting of Red Names
5) CANNOT SMUGGLE
6) have approx. 1.2 things that work in their profession
7) (none of which are smuggling)
8) Are rahter untrusting of Red Names
9) Have been run around in circles by Dev Promises / retraction since launch
10) CANNOT SMUGGLE
11) lied to (see the Smugglers in SWG History - as written by the Devs thread)
12) ... and are rather untrusting of Red Names
13) ... despite being one of the most patient and constructive communities on the forums.
Tiggs -- (if you're still looking)
One final note before I head off to bed.
THIS...*points at the quoted post*...as much as anything else, demonstrates the amount of work that you have in front of you. The mountain of lies and distrust has built up so high, that to restore even the least amount of Developer credibility isn't just a steep climb...it's damn near vertical.
And please don't ask us to throw you a rope, or meet you half way. We played that game already. It's ALL got to come from your side now.

We're also untrusting of Red Names.
This list made me laugh at first. Now I'm almost ready to cry at how true it is ![]()

I always wished that the Devs would just stop in and have fun with us once in a while, it promotes a feeling of trust that is painfully lacking. Glad to see you making the effort. Of course that won't amount to much if you don't get anything done, but you definately have my support for now.
Good ol' Dreven. If I have one fault with you, it's that you post quick enough to take the words out of my mouth.
All I can do is applaude the point made by Dreven and to add my own thoughts:
Smugglers are different, Tiggs. You think you know, but you have no idea. (Screw you, MTV)
we are different. If you come in asking for the same stuff you asked the Artisians, Architects, and Armorsmiths then you are setting a bad precedent in here. We've been asked that stuff COUNTLESS times and prepared NUMEROUS documents for it. So much so that we got sick of it and half-joked about making a Generic Smuggler Doc that was a compilation of our problems, possible fixes, and revamp material. Every time yall asked for soemthing, send the Generic Doc cause it was the same thing about 12 times over.
You're best bet would be to recongize our problems and concerns by telling us what they are so we know that you know. And you need and must work closely with Caylin in accordance with his idea of it. If you come in here expecting just another profession that thinks they need attention you are sorely mistaken.
I suggest you get with Caylin and thoroughly discuss a plan of action before acting on it. We are very mistrustfull of you red names. And we have every right to be. So the "you don't know me and I don't know you" approach won't be taken lightly on my part.
As a paying customer I feel that I have worked enough (even though I'd gladly help again) to better my profession that shuold be getting worked on by SOE. Now it's SOE's turn to work.

Welcome aboard Tiggs. It's always a shock when a Red name show up on this forum. Look forward to working with you.
That being said, when do you anticipate being able to spend a dedicated amount of time discussing things with us? I understand you have to go though all the other professions, that will take quite a bit of time. I'm sure you'll get stuck on the Jedi issues for (what does the rest of the smuggler community think) about 3 months enough? If you use your predecesors' timetables, should we pencil you in for about half an hour sometime in March 2006?
Please don't take this personally, but this community has grown accustomed to certain things, one of which is a absolutely miniscule dialogue followed by utter silence. If, on the other hand this situation proves itself to be different, then I humbly appologize...so please prove me wrong. Oh, and you might not like to hear this, but I'm one of the optimists.

smugglers? there ain't no smugglers here...
that would indicate the ability to smuggle....
we're more of your garden variety ileagal(?) modification specialists.
lets cut to the chase.
There is little to no smuggler content.
The underworld tree is useless(unless you like the fred sandford mini-game),
until higher levels(then you can sell FP).
The doc and chef revamps killed off the usefullness of spice.
we have an unarmed requirement(unarmed 4 from the brawler tree) but no skills/bonuses from that.
we get griefed with armor degredation, and health blackbaring with Feign death.
shall i continue?
LOL
