Starting out selling faction at a low price will do nothing but piss all the existing smugglers off.
Sorry, thats how it works.
If you want to sell faction, advertise your price at the price you chose to keep. I have had 125 cpfp since I could sell faction and made colonel. I have business atleast twice a week on bad weeks.
Pilots sell faction usually for 100cpfp because they can make it without having to spend money, me on the other hand, I want a profit.
And with as many people as there are on the server, the very small crowd you cater to with low prices isn't going to make a difference. People know that faction sells for 125cpu. Most people that buy huge amounts of faction already have buyers and dealers.
The way you can think about it is- All the time youre selling faction at a low price, you could be making more money but instead you decided not to.
And that makes the method flawed how? psssh try to help someone out and get shot down by some @ss.
Trying to help someone by making them the enemy of other smugglers is not helping in my books.
And BTW- I wasn't aiming to be an arse but if you got a problem with what I said and you took it that way, then so be it. But if you knew me and the accomplishments I have done for the smuggler community on my server, you wouldn't be calling me an arse.

people in my PA get it at cost.
people in my city get it at 110 credits per point.
everyone else gets it at 130 credits per point.
with the exception of the respec'd smugglers, i'm generally considered pretty cheap on my server.

So like... half an hour ago, I got a tell from someone in Mos Eisley...
WookNoob: Do you give away faction points?
Me: No, but I sell them.
WookNoob: How much?
Me: 125 credits per point, imperial.
WookNoob: <long pause. He runs up and is standing by me. like four exploration badges, nothing else>
WookNoob: How about 25 credits per point?
Me: /lol
WookNoob: That's just too much.
Me: /shrug That's what it costs.

There's always some idiot on the server who's just breaking into it and decides he wants to corner the market. Saw a guy on my server the other day who was charging slightly over cost for faction and some ridiculously low price for armor. It's fun to watch them get more business than they can handle and burn out in under a week.
But I digress. I charge 110cpu. I should probably raise it a little bit.
