hey there fellow smugglers, im working the scylla galaxy and have finally decided to enter the faction selling business. so id like to know what the going price for selling faction is?

its like 20k for 250 pts if you buy it right? so do you guys sell faction by buying it or do you do missions and such to gain FP and then sell it?

i apologize if this is a common thread but my search function doesnt seem to be working atm so i decided to just ask.

I charge 125 credits per point for faction. The larger amounts the smaller the price...

My theory...

Sell low at first, barely making any profit. Advertise your price constantly. Eventually you will be well known, and people will come to you. increase your price slighly after a month to those of your competitors. Your customer will still come to you as they knowyou, and don't want/need the hassle of finding another smuggler

You can buy 1375fp for 100k credits -- get inspired by an entertainer
Of the 1375fp, 1175 can be delegated
100k/1175 = 86cpu -- bare minimum you have to sell for to break even...well you'll make a fraction of a credit per fp

Now if your buying deeds, it's a different story
100k/1375 = 73cpu

Add on top of that whatever you like

Starting out selling faction at a low price will do nothing but piss all the existing smugglers off.

Sorry, thats how it works.

If you want to sell faction, advertise your price at the price you chose to keep. I have had 125 cpfp since I could sell faction and made colonel. I have business atleast twice a week on bad weeks.

Pilots sell faction usually for 100cpfp because they can make it without having to spend money, me on the other hand, I want a profit.

And with as many people as there are on the server, the very small crowd you cater to with low prices isn't going to make a difference. People know that faction sells for 125cpu. Most people that buy huge amounts of faction already have buyers and dealers.

The way you can think about it is- All the time youre selling faction at a low price, you could be making more money but instead you decided not to.

I sell at 115 creds per Reb FP on Chilastra... unless they use that idiotic chat shorthand like "Hey, r u a Smug?", then I charge 150 creds per FP. I can't stand people who are too lazy to type actual words.

Was 140.

The Dreven came on the scene full on and dropped it to 120... which was good, needed someone to keep me honest.

Dreven left, but kept my prices at the old rate in his honor. Cant wait for him to return and really challenge me to work hard at the business again! (miss ya Drev!)

Now the respecers learned how to afk/grind it and the bottom fell out. I've heard stories of people giving it away. Jerks.

I'm currently holding a "sale" at 100, hoping to recover to 120 someday, so I keep telling them its a limited time offer, but my hopes arent high.

I sell at 125 cpp, too.

Also, Natty/Nismo... personally, I generally BUY the points that I'm selling rather than selling points I've earned. Mostly just because I don't generally have enough points available for the amount that my customers want. I have sold like 1000 points where I didn't have to buy them from the recruiter first, since I had that many on me, but... I don't walk around with tens of thousands of fp all the time.

Quoted price is 130. Actual price is 100. People love thinking they got a great deal. Too bad so few actually haggle and get stuck with 130. Or think haggling is 'Omgz! u r teh suzorz! my frnd will sel for 10 cpu!'
