Tactics: Perhaps out of a force of habit, the first two shots out of the gate are Underhand and Confusion shot. Most people seem to still be leading with a KD, same as me. Assuming I get the first KD, the two specials combined give me a few seconds to squeeze off a few more shots without worrying about defense. If I get knocked down first, KD recovery has done it's job every time so far. While the opponent is on his back, I use panic shot and lowblow. These two specials seem to stack, and slow down their rate of attack. next comes eye shot, then torso shot, then I begin to cycle between spray shot and critical shot. I lay down the various other shots as necessary, making sure to KD again when I think the timer's passed.


I don't use Concussion shot much, only if the opponent runs, sometimes against melee guys as well, though i almost see it as unfair lol. I can usually beat the melee guys without it anyway.


I've found most of the people wanting to duel in the starports to have a limited understanding of their professions, all the commandos ONLY use the PFT, all the MBHs are running around with proton carbines, etc. I beat otherwise evenly matched opponents using the Alliance Needler Carbine, which is almost half the DPS of the proton carbine. It really seemed like most of the people were still trying to use pre-cu tactics, or no tactics at all.


Not the fellow TLB members I dueled though I think the fact that we all started out on TC from the start, rather than coming in when the frogs started allowing instant-uber, gave us all a better understanding of the professions.


Some starport duelers who had smuggler in their template kept using Concussion shot on me, apparently not realizing it does absolutely nothing to a ranged fighter who happens to only be like 20 meters from you.


Seems like a LOT of the starport duelers had either BH or Commando in their template, probably because the forums have inaccurately declared them the post-CU "I win" buttons.


I'm hoping to find some of the hardcore pvpers from live coming over because I want to see how they fare in the new system.


So far, my pvp rating is better than it EVER has been on live






max, I am interested to see how this template has faired for you since the last time you tested it. PVE wise, did you find you were able to hold your own? PVP wise, are you finding it difficult to inflict damage upon your targets?

I hope they will fix all the specials befor May 5th... i am sure the DEVs are working on it, but i am realy not sure whether they'll get at least all the abileties bug free I mean that's what the CU is supposed to do, aínt it...

MS/MP template level 80

INCAPed by level 55 mountain squill

INCAPed by level 82 NPC on mission

Got a small bantha level 60 (?)

Used both the renegade and DX2


Since you cann't stack attacks you have to try to use the bar. I find the ICON impossible. They are hard to see anytime and impossible in a dark background. These need to be made simplier.


The promo for this change was faster and more exciting. If that means you get incapped quick it is successful. Mission that are more than 10% below your level should be simple and fast. Good things to learn to use the tool bar, they are not simple nor are they fast. Mission +/- 10% of your level should take some planning but if you are getting the first shot, are buffed and armoured they should be a no more than a few minutes. This does not happen. First shot from optimum range is no better than anyother range. Once you go more than 10% up you need to have a plan however the only time I have meet a +10% NPC it was incap in one shot.


In PVP Medical skills will make the difference. Facing a DOC/TKM level 80 I lost everytime no matter what I tried. He can heal. The new medicals do something but what is a something I have yet to figure out I guess it is off to that forums.

Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer/0440 - crowd controller template.


Main problems.


- Smuggler/Pistoleer skills doesn't cover area to good, best damage attack is Leg Shot from novice carbineer *cough*


- Slicing doesn't work, it is broken. 15% speed slices lowerd 5 elite 2 carbines from 2.45 to 2.38 ie 0.07. Same flaw in damage slices - needsfixes asap.


Pro's


- Quite fun template, feels like a good combat template for crowd control IF we got some more area features to our specials.

I'll add to this, I sliced a FWG5 Pistol for 0% speed increase...that seemed very wrong, but I could be wrong.

Confirming that Improved Concussion Shot does not mesmerize. It acts as a root only. I assume regular COncussion Shot acts the same way, but I haven't tested it as a master.

Low Blow doesn't work. State icon appears, but no low blow. Tried in a duel, doesn't work, either.


Cant complain about my Adv. Concussion shot. 40 second root.


Last Ditch certainly is a last ditch. Basically takes all of your remaining health and action, and spits back out the same amount of damage you have taken into one attack.

I had a 0% speed and damage slice yesterday,others averaged around 5-15%....i also noticed that i got slices on the range mod....a vk went up from 5 meters to 6....im fairly new to this so was that the norm before cu?

Ok... if Low Blow did a KD like it used to, then I would put us at a 4.5 in crowd-control. a good kd and root and we would be a 5 -- or have I just not found the right attacks?
