I personally do care for the fact that JFreeman mentioned a "Plan B" approach.
MMMMMhhh... Plan B
That worked out great the last time.
Can't wait.

If I were to shoot anyone for being annoying, it'd be Jar Jar

Thanks Wes... You really helped put out this possible fire on this thread...![]()
He used the ninja power "evoke hate" and made us remember Jar Jar, who is really needing a shot in the face.
It's very unlikely we'd ever do a full profession revamp for smugglers anyway. Instead we're focusing on incremental changes, enhancements, updates.
The Combat Upgrade itself was a change to the Smuggler profession, and the recent slicing changes was another. We're still planning on reviewing the spices: probably not a full fledges "spice revamp", but rather fixes and upgrades to improve the line.
This is the only good thing to come out of this message.
We agree that you need Smuggling Missions. So, you don't need to convince us of that!
In the past, our approach to this has been to design with an eye toward content-driven delivery mechanisms. Now I think we've come to the realization that creating hand-crafted content requires more resources than we can devote to a single profession. So we need a plan-B.
In the same way that Bounty Hunters have a systems-driven source of activity, we've got to look at ways of systemically delivering "smuggler missions" to you.
But I still can't give any details as to when we could deliver this or how it might work.

There is no way we can give you quality missions that we all have been talking about for two years because we are not allowed to pull people off the expansions they are working on to do so. Instead- we will give you a mission terminal and be done with it.

...So we are looking for a quick way to turn BH missions into Smuggling missions- however I can't tell you how we would do that when all our developers are either working on expansions or bugs so that implementing expansions will be easier.
Enhancing the Smuggler profession is high on our list of priorities.

But we really WISH you could have Smuggling missions now but we will always be pushing to give them to you as "soon"tm as humanly possible.
That is what this message says. I take that to mean we are not getting Smuggling missions. We've been hearing this for two years people. Just face it. WE ARE NOT GETTING SMUGGLING MISSIONS.
When ever their good intention to give us Smuggling missions comes up something bigger and better comes along and takes it's place.
They don't have any intention of giving us Smuggling missions until they have nothing else to do. And that's the truth.
If you are playing this game to be a Smuggler that smuggles you are wasting your time. There are plenty of other things you can do as a smuggler but if you want to smuggle this is NOT the game for you.
Let's stop fooling ourselves here. It's really getting VERY pathetic.
No, Smuggler Mission Terminals will show up. The question is, will any of the current smugglers bother sticking around another 3-6 months to see them?
My guess is no. Because I did read what you read also, and agree that the time frame for them is pretty low-priority despite what J said.

Rigth on.
Except it seems - that many people will be content with the delivery missions.
And that is just as frightening.
What we do is demanding some frigging Innovation and creativity - theres a lot of this at the core of the SWG design - but it all gets phased out - so Smedley can have his wish - and be where WOW is. Only that Quote was even more of a pipe dream, than ours.
It is over unless someone wakes up and takes over.

Here's how I read that.
We're not going to redo your whole profession. We've "fixed" slicing in our eyes. We think spices can use some tweaking. We were originally going to try to create a whole set of stuff for smuggling content, but we probably don't have the manpower to do that. Instead we think the best we can do is give you smuggling missions (as I read, like BH missions. go to term, get mission. complete mission. rinse. repeat) We are paying attention to what you want. You want communication? Well, here's what we think and what we want to do.
I think putting in Smuggler terminals is one of the most often suggested method of quickly improving our profession. I know I've read stuff like "how hard would it be to change a delivery mission to a smuggler mission."
