Do not mistake enthusiasm for passion. I strongly belive that negitivity is anyones worst enemy, I feel sorry for those who belive something can't be done, so they don't try. What do we have to lose from boycotting? do any of your fortunes come from slicing or spice? A boycott is ultimitly a personal choice, who cares if others arn't participating, the important thing is that you are, and you tell people why you are.

It dosn't take a Jedi to convince someone to try something, Just courage and not willing to accept no for an answer.

I use the word inaction in the context that it is easier to not slice or not spice than it is to do so. simply don't slice, dont craft spice. Its just that easy.

I have only been a smuggler for 5 months, and I know what troubles smuggling has had since launch. We should not give up just because nothing has happend to help us

If we are not needed, than where is the harm in not slicing, or crafting spice? Insted of dropping the smugger tag, keep it up. The beauty in a boycott is that you dont have to do anything. If you get an ocational tell for a slice, just say your bocotting slicing because SOE has consistantly lied to us. There is a fatal flaw in cynicyzm, those who dont think something can be done will never achieve anything.

Truth be told, We're on what, our third Corr? We know Caylin did anything and everything to get our point across. I believe he even made the devs mad once or twice. They are aware we are unhappy. They just feel EVERYTHING is more important than us. The only two constants in this game is that smugglers can't smuggle and pistoleers can't use half their specials. If either of those things changed the galaxies servers would collapse in on themselves and create a massive blackhole, devouring the entire U.S and the countries where the Euro servers are located.

What do you think this community has been doing for 17 months sitting here with our thunbs in our poopers? Dont preach cynicyzm to people who have been fighting and are still fighting to make a change.

I may not have been a smuggler as long as some of you, but I can say with certainty that I have been in-game longer than most of you. I don't claim that this idea is new, and wish to take credit for it. I was around when this was tried before. I don't remember seeing anything about it. I still got items sliced, I still bought spice. Did it fail because it never got off the boards?

Even if we aren’t allowed to boycott. If it were to happen, SOE would be forced to respond. Would they respond by banning all of the smugglers? How can they enforce this? Would they make us slice on pain of death? Their only recourse would be to address the smuggling the community and either give us more lies, or actually do something.

I know you have been fighting the devs for more than 5 months, that doesn’t change the fact that we must still try.
The battle between the devs and the smugglers reminds me of a story about a man and a fly. I can't remember the specifics but basically, a fly can bring a man to his knees if it buzzes him long enough.

PAIN OF DEATH! YOU HEARD HIM! HE USED PIRATE LINGO!

Let's stop asking for a revamp and just ask them to give us the pirate profession lol. Not only would it distract us for a while, but it would piss everyone else off because we'd all be talking like pirates ingame, and they'd all demand smuggler be fixed and pirates done away with.

LOL I like that idea...

We could pillage and plunder...maybe even hijack player ships and steal their booty...then shake their booties till the can't shake no more....

Yeah...then the smugglers would get fixed for sure...

Course I might want to keep Pirate.

Arrrrrgh...

I know you - this is not about me look at all the other post in here.have been fighting the devs for more than 5 months, that doesn’t change the fact that we must still try.

Look im not trying to fight with you I said in a past post Im not slicing and spicing now so by default im behind you. It's been done before, everything has been done before. The Dev's will do what they want to do when they want to do it. Maybe with all the "Buzz" on the boards of late they will stop in and say hi but the reality is they wont until they are ready. If you get every smuggleron every server on the same page it would be an amazing feet just, dont get upset when it does not happen. Again Im not slicing or spicing I stopped because of low responce from the player base andlack of love from the dev's so if you can get everyone to do the same great! Just dont be shocked when (even if we all do it) the dev's still do not respond and every other profession treats us like children (right or wrong they will). Bottom line we are all peeved we all want to make a statement, sadly the bestthing is to leave SWG's all together, im not willing to do that and most others are in the same boat. So here we sit and stew......

No more slicing, no more spicing! Give us our profession back!

How long has it been since the devs first promised the Smugglers some love? Personally, I can think of three specific occasions when we were told something like "Don't worry change is soon... very soon"

Remember the "imperial crackdown” it came with the promise of a role for us in the galactic civil war. We were to be true smugglers, carrying items and groups across zones of imperial control. We were to be the masters at hiding contraband. The truth was that imperial officers were better at smuggling than we were!

Perhaps our true calling came with the new and improved junk trade, where smugglers can go to the Jawa fortress to exchange junk for credits. Yes! We found our true calling; we are the garbage-men of SWG!

If we can slice hand-guns and vibro-knucklers, why can’t we modify ship lasers? Why are there smuggling missions "in name only" available to everyone? Why not just call them "free trader missions"? The writing is on the wall, we are one foot in the grave as a profession.

I’m afraid I have only highlighted some of the questions we have all been asking for months and months and months. Each one of you knows the plight of a smuggler in SWG. Yet you all remain smugglers. I do too; I have read agonizing post after agonizing post on how we have gotten the collective shaft from the developers. When I imagine the star wars universe, especially in the post Yavin galactic empire timeline, smugglers played a vital role in galactic trade, the rebellion and the black market. Do we see any of that in SWG? No, we have been reduced to drug-dealing weapons experts. The BHs have missions, where are ours?

The time has come to strike back. The developers' inaction has forced us to act. The time has come for boycott, our only bargaining chip. I propose starting now, we never slice again, we do not manufacture a single vile of spice, we do not trade anyone any FP for any reason. This boycott should stay in place until we can get word from the devs that the smuggler that is so prolific in star wars cannon be shown some dev love.

This task is difficult, but if we stand together, focus on the long term benefit of change, and cast out our short term greed, this can be done.

Ask yourself, do you really believe that things are getting better for the smuggler? Do you really believe that if we just play nice, and wait for the devs to do something that they will?

The only reason that this will not work is if we don't want it to.

No more slicing, no more spicing! Give us our profession back!
