Maybe he was just new to the smuggler buisness and wanted to start cheap. Not every one comes to the forums after all.

5k is pretty norm on my server. Of course whenI played on intrepid buffs were 10k and on ahazi they were still 6k. Just depends on your galaxie I guess.

Can you make more $ running missions or doing other stuff? If so, you are not charging enough.

If you make (in real life) $500 per hour ... your time is worth at least that (maybe $750 per hour if you want to throw in overtime). Would it make sense to pay someone $65 per month to mow your lawn? Or would it make more sense to spend your time (that is worth $500 per hour) to mow it? ... that depends on how much you enjoy it ... and if you can find more enjoyable stuff to do.

Seriously Geevo. Spend your time on more important things that being bothered by the lower prices other smugglers are charging.

There will always be people that will undercut whatever price you decide to charge.

For myself, I do not run missions for money. Why?I'm not that much of a combat-oriented person in the game. So no, I don't make more money doing missions. The 5k a slice I charge is plenty for me, and the money I'm making from slicing is just a bankroll for the resources I"m buying. I'm making the real moneymaking weapons.

I paid a total of 50k for resources to make Vibro Knuckles. I can make many many VKs from those resources (I haven't actually figured out the exact amount). I have sold 4 of them for over 100k total.I made back my initial investment, made over 50k profit, and I have enough resources to make many more.

I'll probably break a million credits or more profit from making just Vibro Knuckles.

As for slicing, the resources for a clamp, 2 knives, and a Weapon Upgrade Kit cost what.... 500 credits? That's a pretty high estimate also. If I charge 5000 credits for a slice, I just made a 900% profit. That's a pretty damn good profit margin. I'm ok with that.

Interesting double standard you've got going Max. Geevo and others say something about pricing and you tell them to get over it yet every thread about pricing has you not following your own advice and not getting over people who care about pricing.

It's not a double standard. I said: "Spend your time on more important things that being bothered by theLOWER prices other smugglers are charging."

I'm telling Geevo to get over people who are charging LESS than he believes they should charge. Everyone should charge what they want, and what ticks me off are people who "tell" me to charge more.

I am not trying to raise or lower the price that other people charge for slicing. I am against price fixing. This has been my stance in every thread I've posted in.

Good try though.

Good try? What was I trying to do? I saw something, rather I thought I saw something (I reread the thread and found I misread somewhat) interesting and pointed at it.

Smugglers...your time is valuable ... if you don't realize it ... nobody will.

That's justsad and the reason the rest of us lose customers. Had that been my server I would have slaped him, told him holo grinding was over and to go back to being an dancer!

Oh, let me followmy statmentup with4 things.

1. I do feel people have right to charge what they want (i was being facetious).

2. People who say they are chargeing 100 credits per slice are loseing money (its just that simple)

3. slice is worth more then that in todays economy, by chargeing a price that was used at launch you hurt the smuggler who do make a living on slicing.

4. I dont think we should all charge the same price however because a divers marketplace stimulates growth (hence our price increase's over the last year).

I can earn in excess of 500K credits in 30 minutes running Janta missions on Dantooine. That being said it is apparent that if you are charging less than 10K credits per slice you are not only short changing yourself as a master smuggler but you are damaging the overall industry bycreatingaexpectation in the community at large of low prices for our service. The bottom line is smugglers must have the courage to actually set prices higher and make it stick. My time is valuable. If you want me to slice for you and you are not in my guild you will pay a premium.

Anybody know what the average going rate for slices is on the Gorath server?

I don't plan to even hit Novice Smuggler until late tonight or tomorrow night, so I have plenty of time to decide on a pricing structure at Master- but I'm just curious what the prices are like. I definitely plan to charge on the high end.

Never really understood why people would give away free slices for low percentages. After the cost of using the clamps and knives - why would anybody want to, in essence, pay to improve some random person's weapon - even if it is only by 15%.

I'm at slicing 4 and charge 150 Crd per % improvement.

But as soon as I hit Master (50,000 Pistol XP to go), it will be 10k flat per slice. If someone don't want to pay, great so I don't have to waste my time with him.

It's not IF I can do it, it's HOW MUCH you're willing to pay.
