Just do Shadowpaw for the entire tree. The only Spice that gives more XP is Thrusterhead (gained at Spices 3), but it requires a larger variety of resources, so it's not really worth the effort to switch to that. Shadowpaw all the way.

I like shawdow paw for the first two boxes and thrusterhead for boxes 3 and 4. This is the most efficent and quickest way to go. With the resources it will only take a few hours to grind spices.

Yeah, do Thruster as soon as possible, its 175/xp per as opposed to the 125 (I think) for Shadowpaw. You'll only need 4k in each resource and you'll be good to go. Not that expensive. Just buy the cheapest you can, you're jsut practicing. Oh yeah, and got to the FAQ sticked up top and grab the Spice grind Macro that Caylin put in there. It'll go very fast....
