Just 1? /flex

Just 1... Funny thing is the post that was made only said something along the lines of if they keep deleting and locking threads, they're just stoking the fire. I also posted my support of the AS Corr. It was a little more inflamatory, but I won't get into the exact words since it will probably get me another ban... not that it wouldn't be fun to be double banned lol.

I dunno, my post on that thread was pretty inflamatory, and I'm still here and kicking.. although even if I did get banned I have a few more accounts I can use..

but still, I know the history of it, and it's total crap..

The CU is barreling down on us, and no matter what we say, or any problems that are there it will come none the less... not a good way to push out a very needed and anticipated change. I think they're going to really regret throwing out all of the community feedback

yeah I know, that Soritosus, or however he spells his name, the mod that arbitrarily locks posts... a real forum Nazi. He comes to Gorath on occasion and locks random threads and put in little quips.. thinks he's really funny.. Classic short man syndrom.. enjoys his power of modirator a little too much, but even posting something as "you can lock this one too" shouldn't get it locked.. it's total crap. Nearly ever post on the forums tonight that mentions the crap on the AS board is getting locked or just outright deleted..

From what I've heard, he urged people to PM a dev, which presumably resulted in the spamming of said dev with PMs. Whether that's what was meant or not, it's against the rules. He was a good corre and I'm upset to see him go, especially over something such as this. People throughout the game's community have invested a lot of time, effort and emotion into this game and many want to see it done right by, that includes correspondents and devs. The ends don't justify the means, but regardless, I'm far from happy about all this

Changecan behard to take in and accept, so I'm doing my best to absorb what's going on and try to understand it and decide whether I think its right or wrong/good or bad for the game. It's a greatshame we don't have more time to do so.

As for feedback/dissent, the devs are always after feedback, in whatever form, aslong as it's constructive. I don't know how limited they are in what they can do as a result of that feedback, but they'll take it on board regardless.

Then Wes, PLEASE, do what you can to take the damage-modifiers out of PvE Combat, they ruin the game (IMHO)

The problem I really see though Wes, is that their track record for the last couple of major changes has nothing to do with feedback. The Global Vendor Search not even being rooted in their skill tree was completely against feedback. Armor crafting in the CU has nothing to do with feedback, and even though they're willing to change other things about the CU, they're doing nothing about the AS situation.

Then you have the letter from SOE's president that states that the ROTW expansion is because it's what the players were asking for. The problem with the dev team and feedback is that anything that doesn't fit into their plans is considered non constructive feedback.

Regardless of what was done by the correspondent, the action taken does not reflect a justifiable punishment. Not to mention Tiggs post which was in the first thread deleted so most people here haven't been able to see it.

If that's the way they're going to treat you guys, even if you screw up, then it's a job none of you should have to do. The one thing they need to remember about your positions is that you guys volunteer for the job. You're not compensated in any way other than sometimes having advanced knowledge of game changes and unfulfilled promises (CU Alpha, not exactly a promise but couldn't think of a better word).

Wes, that's just crap and you know it. The CU has been in development since.. on what? Last April? or May... or something. If they were ineterested in constructive feedback it isn't from the SW community, maybe the EQ2 or WOW communities...

As a smuggler you of all should know how good they are at ignoring constructive comments (see long list of stickies up top) The CU is not about what the community wants, it has become whatever SOE wants to see, which trust me... isn't what most of us want. When I see in just about all the patch notes "increase in partical effects upon hit" I just want to up and cancel my account right there, and I think about everyone who posts on the TC forums say the same thing.

I don't know what's wrong with the DEV team, but they have decided to turn this game into some pokemon piece of crap, maybe they want to attract mor people in their Japanese market or something, but it's not good.

So, the AS coro said TH and Tiggs aren't listening, so you guys go at it.. that's fine...he didn't say spam Blix or anything, and if they want to say that's what he did, then that's just to justify them being pissed that he let the cat out of the bag tht they don't care what he says as a coro, because they are going to do it their way no matter what. If they cared about community feedback would they have put it up for consumption only 4 weeks before it was to be released, with a hard date for it's release? or course not... it's going to be their way no matter what, and anyone who dissagreeds get's the boot, and dosn't even get a real reason why, not to mention the non blue glowy status.

Heh, when I signed on for this I knew it wouldn't be all fun and games. You're right, we're volunteers; we volunteer to play by their rules and to help out as we can. As for changes to the game, policy, etc. the best hope you have for that is to voice your opinion and hope it, combined with others will sway things your way. Not the most comforting method of seeing change, but hopefully the most effective.

Opening the devs up to a flood of individually-sent issues seems like the opposite of what a correspondent's supposed to do, but the punishment here seems a little severe for the crime. Especially troubling is that armorsmiths, who have a number of legitimate issues with the CU, may be without a correspondent for two weeks (if they follow the normal selection process), which is going to leave them all of one week in which they'll have a corro who can communicate back and forth.

I'm sure in no position to assign blame on that front and don't think it's important to do so right now, but it does seem of critical importance that the armorsmiths get a correspondent immediately. Really, it might be time for a bit of martial law, lol.. the immediate designation of an emergency correspondent who'd hold the position until a couple weeks after the CU's out. Or keep the original corro and, if they're deadset on releasing him, do so post-CU. Then they could hold the normal process and try to get back to normal. It just seems critically important for the armorsmiths to have an official jefe right now, the final CU changes are going to (obviously) have a tremendous impact on their future in the game.

The political stuff can be hashed out later.. but there's very immediate mechanical issues that need to be dealt with first.

This is ignorant. What it comes down to is the Devs ignored and upset an entire, major community of this game. The Correspondant did his best to voice concerns and views of the community. Devs ignored themand just weren't going to do a damn thing about it. God forbid something be wrong with their CURB.

Correspondant throws a last ditch effort to get the view across and get someone noticed. So they spam a Dev's mailbox. Someone get's their panties in a wod up top and it comes down on the Armorsmiths.

The simple fact is, this game is run by incompitent fools that have no concept of what is Star Wars or how to manage a MMO type game.

They constantly throw out "hit and miss" jobs. They put words in the mouths of the community by saying we are "clamoring" for the Combat Upgrade and for "more Episode III content. And of course the general shottiness with doing the right thing.

If the Developerswould have donethe right thing andtooka look at theoverwhelmingmass of Armorsmiths complaining about this problem instead of sweaping them under the rug, then this wouldn't have happened.

Sh*t runs downhill, ladies and gentlemen. It starts at the top and about a month ago, someone gulped down 4 sacks of Taco Bell and let loose. Now it's on us in the form of thishairy turd calledthe Combat "Upgrade".

And for you posers out there saying "this is a business, they're just trying to make money so give 'em a break"...well, cram it where Corell doesn'tshine. That's the problem.

I'm so ready to cancel it's not even funny.

I think I must just be numb from being ignored by the devs for two years as a Smuggler.

That being said this CU seems rather random, like they're designing it as the beta test it. And with a hard deadline based on the movie release that just seems absurd to me.

They shouldn't be breaking things like the weapon customization then trying to patch it up by making fully customized weapons certed at various levels. Then they hear the uproar over this group or that not being able to use this weapon or that so they throw in some bogus combat level cert overlapped over the profession level cert...mind boggling and horribly unplanned IMO.

Then, of course, there are the poor entertainers (of which one of my alts is) that get totally screwed by; 1) making an entire branch useless, b) leaving them health-poor in combat, c) removing BF to heal and d) making it EASIER for bufbots to suck the fun out of the profession.

All in the name of the Sacred CURB some people at SOE have it in their stubborn heads that the GCW is the be-all end-all of the entire game and are willing to sacrifice anything in the name of combat for the GCW. That is pitiful in my not-so-humble opinion.

its just pathetic that the ENTIRE armorsmith community was so up in arms about the changes to their profession that their correspondent had to become a martyr and that still will not do anything for these guys It's time that we face it guys, SOE has their own agenda here. What we say is totally meaningless. Don't be fooled, your feedback is falling on deaf ears. This has been so painfully obvious in case after case after sad sad case.

Do the armorsmiths have some valid complaints? You betcha. No argument there.
Have they handled it in a REMOTELY constructive way? Hell no.

This is beta people! Nothing is set in stone and the game is changing every couple of days... hell, sometimes more than that.

I'm so tired of seeing "SOE doesn't care" - "SOE doesn't want us to have fun" - "SOE is run by the Taliban" - It's ridiculous.

Honestly - If you're that completely up in arms about it... If you hate SOE and this game that much. PLEASE I beg you. Quit. Please quit. I'm starting to think it doesn't matter what SOE does, the only way to make this game better is for every whiner to belly up to the bar and follow through on their threats of quitting.
