Well in my eyes, certain professions (Smuggler and BH) shouldn't be involved in the GCW anyway. They are 'fringe' classes. They shouldn't be joining sides and gaining military ranks. They should always keep their options wide-open. It's got to be about the money. A Smuggler or BH might favour one side over the other in ideals, but to join up in military service in the name of the Alliance/Emperor, would beg the question as to why the smuggler/BH got into his/her profession in the first place.
That's all an off-topic rant though for another time.

I'm not saying all smugglers should PVP but if you like doing it and realise that smugglers crowd controll abilities can be devestating in a PVP battle if you work with a good group who knows how to protect you and use you to it's advantage we can be a force to be recond with.
I view Smuggler as a support character in a PVP battle much like a combat medic. It's our job to help our fellows by mezing the other side and adding de buff to make em esier to kill.
No smugglers on a PVP battlefield where is the fun in that.
When Han joined the Alliance, he was no longer a smuggler by trade I think you'll find.
Of course Smuggler's can work on the PVP battlefield, but I'm referring specifically to the GCW. Although that would go out the window anyway, as all a player would have to do is be for example Commando/Smuggler, then they'd have every right to be in the GCW in theory. But you'd imagine that his faction don't know he's a smuggler.
It's all hypothetical anyway!

I think he was actually Ranger/Smuggler if we take the EU into account. He was a trained soldier before becoming a smuggler.
But that's sort of my point. Can you imagine in the middle of the Battle for Endor, as there is a huge firefight around the secret Imperial shield generator, gunfire everywhere - someone says "Damn, what we really need is a Smuggler!".
It's all about Star Wars lore vs. Gameplay vs. Limiting the play experience.
We'd be full of restrictions if we tried to stick to Star Wars lore, but some things just seem plain odd: Like Imperial Jedi. Isn't that an oxymoron?

You still can't be attacked if you are in FD but now some proffs have specials that can get you out of it. So you take a chance using it.

No they refixed it to work in PVP. It was supposed to be an unbreakable escape tool for a smuggler. Heh that doesn't work though. There are several ways to bring you out of FD. I won't list them, but have had most used on me at one time or another.
Once (if ever) it is available for me to join another Faction like Jabba the Slugs I will. Does the j3dis (don’t know the temp) No DB buff have a break, as far as I know it doesn’t. It does cost a lot of force though and FD costs a lot of Action and Mind if I fail. I am like Han when he saved that whiney j3dis butt. He couldn’t smuggle cuz the had a bounty on his life, so he came back to buy some time. I PvP to buy some time in hopes that I will get the smuggle something soon. By that I don’t mean delivery missions that only smuggles can do. REAL smuggling that is why I got the game. PvP just passes time. I would love to smuggle and if PvP is incorporated in to the smuggling system great. Can anyone that works for the decision makers say if this is ever going to be possible.
