Thread: First time ever. (Long but I thought you might want to respond)
First time ever.
For the first time ever I got mad playing a game. I am 26 and have played a lot of games and cheaters never really bothered me cuz I usually beat the snot out of them sooner or later. Here are some of my worst game butt kicking’s before I tell you all what made me so mad so you can get a feeling for how bad I have lost and still never goten mad.
- First time playing Madden I lost 72-28 what was so bad was the guy ran for 499 yards WITH ONE player
- Now I am winning 90% of the time and learned that the guy was doing the ‘leap/spin you cant tackle me’ bug that was banned in tournament play. I didn’t get mad.
- First time playing Halo I didn’t know what spawn camping was and didn’t log a single kill
- Technically not cheating but I figured out how to ‘FIX’ the campers. I didn’t get mad.
- First time playing Project Goth I couldn’t get around the track this is due to the I can play racing games bug but I don’t get mad and still play sometimes.
Anyhow as you can see I have gotten beat badly altot and never got mad, until last night. I was in Cnet there was a huge PvP going down (My first non-duel PvP). As I stepped off the shuttle I died getting ganked by 2 j3di as I was trying to make it to the Cantina to get in a group. I didn’t get mad I laughed and went and got SF again.
When I got back to the Cantina I got grouped and the battle continued for quiet some time with the Rebs coming out on top. So we were waiting around for the Imps to come back again (they tried like five times but never came out on top) and I was killing the Stormies outside the Starport, then it happened I got ganked by three j3di, I dint get mad I should have been paying attention. So I am on fire KDed and am low on health. As a Master Smuggler first thing I think of is, the only way I can get out of this is to FD. System massage you have Feigned Death successfully. I fall down.
Then it happens, four little letters show up over my head and I an drug about 30 feet (in game) smackdab in to a gank mob of Imp j3di. And to my astounding amazement my toon stands up only to get KD/DB. And I get laughed at ‘FD not working so well is it!’. Now for the first time in my life I am mad because of a VIDEO GAME, and boy was I pissed. I asked my boys if they could drive them back to my location so I could see them die and was pleased to watch them get crushed by my buds. So I get REZed and healed up to go find the guy that laughed at me for pulling me out of FD. He is by his recruiter and not SF. ( I don’t know who drug me but they all laughed)
Still being mad I started Recruiter ganknig one good cheat diservers another. And they are getting pissed. At me so the cheat accusations fly back and forth finly I get killed and start talking to one fo the Imp j3di and he said that he didn’t do it and was cool with me being mad but ha wanted to stop my recruiter ganking so he killed me. Fine we snet tells back and forth and I said sorry for ganking his recruiter and so on.
Then I felt like man I let a game get me mad and lead me to ‘Cheat’ as they called it and that is a first also I have never cheated and only used GameGenie to make games harder to beat. . After I stopped being mad I wandered if it was a cheat. It is my understanding that only the player is supposed to be able to break FD not another player. Can you guys help me out here, will this get fixed. I realized later that I had my Master Smuggler Tag over my head, that will now be added to the pre PvP check list get gun, eat pie, drink beer, turn off ID tag. Thanks and have a smugglery day.

Yes, I'm blunt. It's from stuff like this going on for two years to my favorite genre (scifi) of games. My favorite story (Star Wars)
Believe me, we're all pissed about it. Guess what? The devs are busy. With Jedi. They're starting revamps, but this is a game-breaking bug.
Jedi whine about no FRS and no pearl drops. When we "whine" about not being able to Smuggle, they get mad. Hypocrites.
Basically, tell 'em to "shove it" and contact a CSR (for all that's worth, lol)

now we r both a little biased here, ur a smuggler, im a jedi (going to make my alt a smuggler, YAY)
but we both want something that gives the content to our proffessions... yet neither of us has gotten anything... us no FRS, u no smuggling (both make no sense at all to me, i mean no smuggling for a smuggler?!?!? thats like an imperial who hates black and grey!) but we r in the same situation and we should be working together instead of the smugglers hating us as much as those BHers (man those guys can be mean sometimes) so lets just be on the same side and not try to take content (or stop the making of content) for eachother

My personal take on this is.....
Working as intended. Every move in the game should have a counter move. When it doesn't its game breaking. Force cloak should have a counter and does not. Thats plain wrong. FD does have a counter and thats ok.
Yes it's anoying when someone knows something about the game that you don't, yes its frustrating that FD works so well againts mobs but in PVP it has a counter.Look at it from the other side for a moment. How pi$$ed would you be if you were fighting someone you had him beat he knew it you knew it and suddenly he is unattackable and there is nothing you can do to beat him. How pi$$ed would you be.Pretty pi$$ed is my guess.
FD needs a counter move in game and it has one. Some professions have a state remover, can't remember exactly which ones I think its combat medic and one of the lines in the Jedi tree. They can removebuffs from opponents and that is how they got you out of FD.
Now as for the dragging thats a bug. No one should be able to drag you unless they have consent.
Wes can we add this to the smuggler issues list and pass it on to the Dev's if this is definatly the case. I'll see if I can get some of my buddies to test it with me tomorrow and iff they can drag me when I'm FD we realy need to push for this to be fixed.
J3di cloak is the real problem. It was designed as an alpha strike but it can be used for a whole lot more atm. Thankfully that will not be a problem soon as a nerf is on the way with the ranger updates.
So FD, working as intended.

I agree on counter moves, but using a bug/exploit (ie: This certain move was not designed and/or intended to bring one out of FD) is wrong.
Yes, I agree we all need content. Most Jedi just fail to realise that. Most Jedi are greedy *censored*.

Working as intended. All I can say to that is WOW! and no it isn’t. This move is not supposed to have a break. I lose my ability to do anything but die if the move fails that is counter enough for me. Yes I was going to lose anyhow but it is called FEIGN DEATH people and if you fake like you are dead well um then you should not be able to be attacked. Just like I cant continue to attack a corps. I used it in PvP so I wouldn’t die, a j3di gank mob that I didn’t see (cloaked and getting out of my field of view most likely) were attacking me and well I didn’t want to die. I learned some valuable lessons in this, my first PvP experience and I will get better. I also was reminded of all the cheaters out there. It took three months to find one but I did. Yes there are lots of people that know more about this game then me, just cuz I know how to count cards in Vegas doesn’t mean I do it. Cuz it is cheating, and I could go to jail but mainly cuz it is cheating. I do think that in FD you should not be able to use chat, Like I did in order to call in backups there’s your counter move. You shouldn’t be able to talk at all if you are dead no g-mail nothing. But that is just me if I die on Dath and cant get REZed then I am dead I don’t send a /tell asking for a REZ but that is just me and I die sometimes I live with it. But I still don’t like cheater/exploiters they ruin any game experience.

Hi when I wrote working as intended it was not a dig at you Bro. What I was tring to say is that every action in this game needs a counter action for balacing. I agree I don't like the way it works but thats how it's got to work. Did you read my bit about looking at things from the other side.It has to have a counter move orit wouldn't be fare to your opponet.As I said the drag thing is a bug and needs to be fixed butI cant see how FD could work in PVP withough some way to counter it.
Like I said not trying to have a go at you man just mytake on the situation. I use FD in PVP andI'm lucky to have never come across someone with the counter in their template or the knoledge of how to use it. I guess youtake a chance using it and ive been lucky. What we realy need to do is get the dam J3di gankers out of the GCW and get back the fun we used to have.An Alpha clas has no place in PVP when we do not have a dam counter to them.
