Thread: A workable way to play Sabacc ingame
I have been trying to come up with a workable means of running a card game for quite some time now... the best I've been able to do is this (using 5 card draw):
1) Vendor filled with bags labled "hand"- each is filled with 5 random "cards" (named chance cubes, whatever) These are posted in a "dealer's assistant" droid vendor at the table, and listed at the ante cost.
2) A live dealer with 40 bags filled with single "cards", also at random, or as close as one can get. No label for each bag.
3) each player buys a hand from the assistant. When they need to swap cards, the dealer selects random bags from their inventory and tradesthem to the player in exchange for any discards.
As the game progresses, the pit boss (the merchant who's vendors are used), collects empty bags and discards from all tables, and stores them on a central discard vendor. Once a dealer's assistant vendor or dealer is empty, the pit boss compiles new bags from the deposit vendor and sells them at the assistant, or trades them to the dealer. The pit boss also pays out all pot winnings, and collects the house winnings from the dealers.
Also very possible to cheat, but then, playing cards in game is an RP event in and of itself, and IMO, "cheating" only adds to the fun!
