There doesn't seem to be much in there for Master Smugglers since this will replace the way that slicing and spice experience is gained.
Also, it would be nice to be able to slice ship parts once and for all. I didn't see any indication of that. It's nice how they pay lip service to Han Solo and then give some mini-game on slicing weapons and nothing to modify the ship.
Slicing definately needs to be expanded beyond what they have. Make sure you post about it in the thread. I haven't done any yet, sicne I am at work and don't have time to read all those pages!!!!

I did.. nothing about slicing ship parts. Only weapons and gear, and I take gear to mean armor and other ground-based equipment.

You'll excuse me if I don't hold my breath....
We've seen "In Concept" links rot in that forum for years, IC 2 is still in there, posted originally back in january 2004. We've seen requsts for suggestions fade into forum memory and promised revamps come and go.
I'll believe it when something that counts as a significant improvement to the smuggler profession actually hits live.

ok not to sound like a pessamistic @$$ but ....
spice:
what happens to the spice crafting skill tree if I am no longer going to be able to craft my own spices? That's 14 skill points with nothing to show for it.
Slicing:
Seems to me the new "slicing game" is going to be severly effected by lag...and now I'd like to thank the dev's for adding some truth the the statement "you just ruined my uber gun"

waaaahhh.....
What, exactly, are you expecting?
People complain about crafting spices so that is leaving.
People complain about not being able to control the slices, so they're changing that.
People complain about not having smuggling missions, so they're looking at adding missions.
We went from demanding information about a smuggler revamp and we now have information about a smuggler revamp.
What are you complaining about?? What is it you want? Do you just live to whine?
Sure, we all want to see this go into live and I'm guessing that we're sceptical enough to take this with a few grains of salt, but it look like they at least put the effort into showing this community that they've at least heard our requests to some extent.
Stop freaking crying! If this isn't what you want to see from a smuggler revamp, what the hell are you expecting????
[tired of people who will never be satisfied]

Think of it this way, while those things will certainly happen it also gives us a reason to attend high-level areas that involve group mechanics.
People want to use the best and it has it's consequences. They will have the chance that their uber 100000max dmg t-21 breaks down in the middle of a big fight in say... deathwatch bunker. They are not going to like the thought of going *back* to town and finding a smuggler. They will want to have that smuggler fighting with them for on the spot jobs.

Exactly. It's great that they are thinking about it...but we've seen things like this before. I, also, willbelieve it when I see it.

Copied and pasted from Tigg's post:
The goal of the slicing enhancement will be to give smugglers more control over the results of their slices, as well as improve the gameplay element of slicing. Finally, smugglers will be giving some slicing options that can be used inside POB ships.

All I can say is, it's a start.
They still have 2 years of total neglect to make up for.
