Hmm how about buying it from the faction farmers? If you can get it for 80C/FP or even below...

as mentioned:

1) they have to spend time to farm it, we will be able to get as much as you want, when you want it. and we can then use our 25% discount to buy the perk you want.

2) (more importantly) "faction farmer" is not a searchable profession on character search.

(edit: however - it is a bit worrying, In fact, I just posted in the dev thread saying they should drop the price of faction or drop the rate of faction earned in space... after all, if you don't stand up you're gonna get stepped on)

to 1) Of course we can, but what they sell to you, you can sell again to someone else. For your price, and still get the 25%.

to 2) find those people, you are a Smuggler. Make contacts with those people and hire them to work for you. Exclusive

sorry bud, got wrong end of the stick. thought you meant why go to us when you can buy from them. Buying all the fp off the faction farmers before the norms get hold of it is a good idea, but really, It shouldn't have to come down to that... should it?

I dunno...you may be onto something.

If, say, you were to work out a contract with a faction farmer where you agreed to pay him 50c/FP. And, assuming he was a Colonel, he sold all of his capped FP to you when he maxed out, that would be around 50k FP for a cost to you of 2.5 mil (which would be all profit for him).

You could then turn around and resell 42k of that FP to another client for whatever your going rate was. In my case, 140c/FP. Which, for me, would be a profit of 3.38 mil.

This way, everybody's happy. The faction farmer makes a nice profit off of you. You make a nicer profit reselling FP that you got dirt cheap. And your client's just happy to get FP at all...he doesn't have to know what your profit margin is.

It would be one problem less to worry about. But at the moment it is an opportunity to take.

Hmmmm well, as Dreven probably knows, I have my superfast method of grinding faction. In a single buff session I can get probably 10k fp or more, depending on the crowd. howeverthe only excitement that comes from it is the risk of the local gank squad, and for someone looking to get a quick Factional HQ or armor, switch factions, or even go up a rank, without any risk or grinding, smugglers are the way to go. let's face it, someone with an AT-ST, they've got money, and they probably bought that AT-ST.

I've never made a regular business out of selling faction points. I usually don't get asked, so I don't really see this as a threat. You just have to count on the person looking to buy them to be really lazy. When they do ask, I usually collect around a million, because they just want the points with no questions asked. Just recently I had an Imp buy rebel faction points from me, and though the rate would have charged him around 500k...but it was late, and I simply told him I didnt have the patience to do it....unless the price was right, so he doubled it.

Exploitation of the rich and lazy is the way to go with faction points....maybe thats what the devs were counting on.

I don't know too much about the faction business as I have never done it before. But I was curious...

Do you really have to delegate the faction? Can't you just buy whatever they wanted and trade it to them(assuming it wasn't rank they were looking for)? Are certain things not tradeable? The only reason I ask is that I'm currently neutral, and not looking forward to buying my way up to Colonel.

i know you cant trade at-st's and i would guess any other 'pets', but as far as i know, everything else is tradeable.
armor, schems, weapons, furniture, etc.

you have to be overt to buy some things, like pets and gcw items like outposts, turrets, and minefields.

i know some people set up vendors to sell the faction items.
how they got all the faction is a different question.
after the next patch, we can all buy whatever we want with no one else needed to transfer to.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

I really wonder how removing the 500 faction point cap is breaking our profession even more.
