Personally, I'd prefer it if Factional Armor didn't require you to go Overt, but made you Overt. In other words, we could equip the armor without visiting a Recruiter, but equiping(even just one piece) it sets us to Overt status automatically. Taking the armor off, would likewise, make us Covert. However, to avoid people using this to keep from dieing in PvP, taking off Factional Armor TEFs you, so that you remain a valid target in firefights.

This would allow for Covert Infiltrations of areas. And to keep base destructions balanced, simply keepan Overt timer on for using terminals. Meaning you have to be Overt for X amount of time before you can use a base's terminal, for defence or offence. That way, you don't have people run into bases, equip a Bicep or something, and hit a terminal.

Just an idea to think over, anyway.

Now, this is a good enough idea...BUT!

The only problem with this (and I mentioned this to TH at Fan Fest, you'll laugh when you hear this one, I think Fish got the last sentence and looked shocked,) is that being able to go Overt on the fly has some serious grief potential. There would be too many opportunites for Imperials to go overt on the fly, and then pull out an AT-ST on a lone overt Rebel target. And if they are balanced as well in the CURB, I'd say that's not going to be pretty, and I'm an Imperial.

I believe the last thing TH said in that conversation was, and I quote:

"How would YOU like it if I backed you into a corner and then whipped it out?"

Joras was about 5 feet from me and TH as he said that, and Fish just looked over (shocked) and I think he said something like, "I don't even wanna know!"

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.

on a related note, anyone else hoping tk m 's won't have to wear armor? like Jedi, they shouldn't really have to, IMO

Oh, definitely. TK should definitely NOT get bonuses to the medium and heavy armor, and hopefully, actualyl, get bonuses to NO armor.
