Can somebody explain the "spice downer change"? I'm not sure what that refers to.

Spice downer change in a nutshell...

Before Change

1. Eat spice
2. Kill for length of spice effect
3. Downer - Stats drop to reflect downer effect
4. Downer wears off, stats instantly return to normal

After Change

1. Eat spice
2. Kill for length of spice effect
3. Downer - stats drop to reflect effect
4. Downer wears off,- stats then begin to regen to normal as if recovering from damage. This results in increased downtime, thus making spices even more unattractive, thus the market for spices grows smaller.

I think I got that right anyway. Someone who is more of a Spice dealer can come in and correct me. I never personally got into that market, so I'm basing this solely on what I've picked up from other discussions.

How about this:

Given that the smuggler revamp has been delayed again, will anything be done to tide us over while we wait for our revamp that is coming post-JTL? Basically, will we see any minor fixes (i.e. Dirty Fighting fixes w/ the combat rebalance, new spices, skill tree documentation) prior to our now far-away revamp?

Maybe the wording could be a little different, but I think this incorporates most of what people are asking in here.

Go with the skill box/text issue. This is something that should have been resolved within the first month of release.

Asside from brandy/canape destroying the muon market, the added downer issue, and smugglers being cut out of the combat revamp... Is there or will there be anything else negative released that will effect smuggler(And in which case, we'll have nothing to counter with)? The devs are refusing to even touch smuggler until a full scale revamp is being worked on. They claim that smuggling will be space related in JTL. What does smuggling/JTL have anything to do with the spice issues, our ground/combat issues, and text missing in our skill boxes? Should we really take the ignorant route and expect a revamp within the first 3 months after the release of JTL, with the given of JTL issues/bugs appearing within that time period? Will we more or less be required to buy an expansion in order to smuggle / make use of the revamp?

Consider trading our question for a first round draft pick at a later date; we're not going to get **edit** from them for 6 months.
Give them a question you won't mind hearing a BS response to. Seriously.
'When will they add text to our skill boxes'
-With the smuggler revamp
'Why was the spice downer changed'
-Balance issue blah blah blah, may change blah blah blah, no change planned now, blah blah blah, combat balance, blah.
'Will we ever be able to pick a slice'
-We hope so?
'Can we get a buy/sell faction UI window and buy faster than 100 fp at a time'
-Our UI guy is very busy with (insert something way more important)
'Where do you see the profession's role going'
-We're hoping you could tell us in another new post, blah blah, dynamic content, blah blah, vision statement, blah blah, revamp, blah blah blah.

Or, give them a loaded question.
'Have you decided to stop **edit**ing smugglers over yet?'
'What else (aside from that great emote revamp) is more important than the smuggler revamp?'
'Could you place any classes above smuggler as being more pooly implemented?'
'Can we get the ART department to redo drugs so that their use as decoration might be better implemented?'

Have they put any consideration into the Crime Lord profession which you very well outlined?

Well to be honest, doesn't that kind of make sense? I mean, we get the bonus of the spice being like an insta-heal already (rather than just increasing the max, it increases the max and fills the pools by that amount), so yes it's worse but I could totally see the "before change" being a bug rather than an intended effect.

This seems like kind of a waste of a question to ask about then. I predict the answer would be "It was a bug, we fixed it. Actual spice improvements will be part of the revamp and not just reinstating of bugs. This is being discussed internally blah blah blah..."

We don't know if it makes sense or not. Spices worked like they did for 9 months, and no one said boo about them being "bugged". Then when patch 7 hit (was it 7 or 8?) this change was in there, and we had no warning whatsoever that it was coming. So maybe the patch bugged the spices for all we know. Thing is, no one explained why this change hit, no one told us it was coming, and its been nearly 2 months without an official acknowledgement of any sort from SOE regarding this issue.

I am personally tired of the non-communication from the other side of the fence. Our revamp is at least 6 months away. We have ample time to ask about things pertaining to it - lets just get this one question ANSWERED so we know why it was changed and what is going on. For crying out loud our CORRESPONDENT wasgiven the answer, and then told not to tell us. Doesn't this send up a freakin' red flag to anyone else out there?
