I still think Voltron would kick the crap out of any of the Zords. Cuz really, didn't all our cool 80's cartoons just rock so much more than those 90's knockoffs?

***** Everyone gets five stars for taking a small trip down memory lane and realizing just how much fun it was to be a kid and there were actual cartoons on after school and on Saturday mornings.
I remember one episode of Transformers where the kids were watching this army show on the TV and everyone was like "Yo Jack!!" I thought that was the funniest thing, cartoon characters watching cartoons! Today's kids just don't get that level of multi-layered humor anymore...I blame Barney.

Anyway, that gag you were talking about was also a reference to GI Joe, with thier little battlecry "Go Joe!", probably one of the Transformers' top contenders.
On another note, has anyone noticed the phalic semblance of the Sword of Thundara in Thundercats? Whenever it gets ready for action, it gets larger and you hear a man shouting in excitement.

No, i totally know they were making a reference to GI Joe. That's why it was so funny. I mean, if Transformers were watching GI Joe, what were the other cartoon characters watching? Was Snake Eyes watching the Ninja Turtles? Did Mask get their ideas from watching Transformers or GoBots? Did Leonardo and Raphael pretend to be He-Man and Skeletor?

Beavis & Butt-Head and ExoSquad (for those that watched it) were sweet ass. But the 80's had some killers stuff like G.I. Joe and Transformers. But the real battle lays with which side the original Ninja Turtles are going with. I don't think the ProStars and My Little Pony battle will factor in much even though "Bo knows cartoons"!
But then again, I don't count any cartoons made after 1995. That's when they all became 99% anime and 1% cartoon. I liked it better the other way around.
EDIT: After further thought, I give the 1980's cartoon block the win by a narrow margin. Captain N: The Game Master puts them over the top with Bayou Billy's help.

Well technically the transformers and voltron were japanese. but that's neither here nor there. But captain N and the gamemaster was off the hook. Course I also liked the Super Mario Brother's Super Show, so wth do I know?

your forgetting the SMURFS, and there spin off the SNORKS. She-Ra, Dungons & Dragons the cartoon(not the game).

Now that's funny. Everytime I see a large group of people wearing their comp armor with all the different colors, I think "Power Rangers." Excellent flash. The sounds could have been better, but the concept was great.

Just FYI...there's supposedly a new Voltron series in the works for release in the Fall of 2005.
I can only hope it's done better than the new Transformers series.
I think it will be though, since it's being produced by WEP (the same production company who made the original back in the 80s), and it's completely original...not some anime that's being over-dubbed and imported from Japan.

Well, here's to hoping we don't see them running about searching for "Mini-Trons".
