Now, being relativly new to the whole smuggler scene, I would like to find out if this has happened to others. Today I recieved an offer to sell some factions points. Not a lot and not difficult. Well, seeing how you have to be spec for to sell the things, I followed the procedure and did so. After selling the points and on my way back to see the recuiter of choice, as I was less than a second away from traveling I was incapacited by a jedi. No lightsaber hiss warning no, I am going to kill you just a good old fashoined back stab. While laying there waiting to get up, I noticed that this was no noob jedi and he was a rebel. As I go to get up he runs off, I think to myself, wellI will just get on my ship and leave. Nope, again as I activate my radial dial... ZAP... down again. Again he runs off. Thinking he is gone again, I arise only to be cut down from behind by a rebel jedi. So natuarally I questioned his integrety and his response was so what. At which point I reminded him the he gets half points for killing a smuggler and his comment was something along the lines of "I am a jedi, so live with it"
Besides being a coward, this inDUHvidual, has poor sportsmanship. I am wondering if this has happened to other smugglers who are going along minding there own business? After carefull ( I am lying) consideration I have decided that the jedi in this gameare mostly ( I am sure not all, waiting to see if this is true) power meglomaniac. I do wish the devs would let us have PVP smuggler missions because I feel he should donnate to the old smugglers home in a vary large way.
I could rant for hours and now even my cat has a few issues with this jedi. ( I kicked the cat... hoping to set off a horrible chain of events leading to this persons eventual bodily removal from the human race or he loses his credit cards in an all nite wookie love parlor, At this moment all that is happened is the dog next door yelped earlier so I hope I am on the right track) So if you haven't had this happened then beware and if this has happened to you, you have my deepest sympathy. I will now drown my sorrows in beer and pie, all the while thinking that the pie is made from fresh harvested jedi.

As I don't go along with the "I am a Jedi, so live with it." quote, maybe he got his jedi off of e-bay last week and feels entitled. I also am unsure why he didn't DB you, but maybe he was just playing a little cat and mouse.

With that said. (here come the pain)

You were overt and selling fp's, I have been hit doing this and I learned to keep one eye open. A smuggler getting backstabbed by a jedi!? Isn't that suppose to be the other way around?

The Jedi was overt and taking his chances he would take his hits, you were overt and he snuck up and got ya. Simple. Although I don't condone his gloating I'm quite puzzled by yours.

BH's have more right to have beef with Jedi than a Smuggler??? You were just overt, unaware, and /cough slow. If you're going to go overt don't think you're immune, brush up on your PvP skills and plan an escape route. You got served not once but three times.

NO BEER AND PIE for you.

However, one passing thought... besided giving us smuggling missions, I do wish we could straf from orbit.

ROFL LMAO As do I. Damn that would be fun. Just keep on your toes my fellow smug, trust no one...maybe that customer is setting you up??? Always look around and know your surroudings, if possible Xfer at a recruiter in your town that you are familiar with and is well protected.

Trust no one. Open the eyes in the back of your head. Get the Money upfront...cause if they kill you you always have the cash !!!

If you do get surprised Root and Run...you don't get $$$ for Jedi (unless you're a BH on a mission) so why risk your ass my fellow Rogue.

The good Jedi are very very rare, but they are out there.

Just like theere are some REALLY REALLY bad smugglers....and they are are....but they are still out there.

YOu cant judge a profession by the actions of a few...or by the actions of many, you can only judge the actions by watching the people doing the acting....and determine for yourself if they are good...or bad..

The sad truth is, though it is easy to decry how Bounty Hunters and Jedi have received such a hideous share of developer attention in proportion to every other profession in the game, and such complaints are quite well founded, these are the only two professions which have seen even remotely close to a proper amount of attention and support, and even then it may be lacking.

We are dealing with a situation in this game, that I think is unmatched in any other MMORPG out there. It is just virtually unsupported. In a single player game, with even a fraction of the bugs and design issues this one has, one tends to still see significant patches over time to address the more glaring problems. One would expect even more from a subscription based game, but we don't even see that level of support. We don't even see a significant level of code janitor level bug fixing. Any and all effort seems to be directed at expan$ion packs, and they're treated as fire-and-forget sorts of things at that.

Several layers of middlemen/walls have been erected between the developers and the subscriber base. A few mouth-piece positions have been created to speak for the developers, but they are not even doing that. Correspondent positions have been created to act as a further layer of defense to muddle the lines of communication and keep the subscribers out of the way. We occasionally see promises, like the smuggler revamp, and creature specials system, but such promises often prove to be false. We're strung along, told to wait, told they were holding off on them so they could be super-duper good, but in the long time.. WE SEE NOTHING.

It's not simply a lack of communication. It's a lack of action. A lack of progress. A lack of support.

This is a subscription based game. We pay monthly fees for a reason. That monthly investment is not paying off. It is a glaring shortcoming that MUST be addressed. But will it? I'm not getting my hopes up.

One way to help protect yourself is to turn on the Simple Shadows. You will see a shadow even under a cloaked jedi, so if you see a shadow and no visible player then you'll know you have a jedi waiting around for someone to go special forces.
