I gotta say something about this.

Wes is right, we can't flame devs/community reps when they come here and expect them to come back. However, they've brought it on themselves. When devs have come in here without patronising (which Tiggs' intro of Goliath was, and unfortunately Goliath got caught in the middle), they do get a good reception. GM was so loved by the Smugglers because he seemed to leave the BS at the door. Nobody knows what's gone on behind closed doors in Austin, but one thing's for sure, what's gone on on these forums has been attrocious, and no side is innocent in it all.

One final note, I used to stick up for Tiggs, and not just on this board. I defended her on others, while still trying to get a straight answer out of her, but this last attempt to give us the slight of hand by "trying" to mince word definitions was the last straw for me. I will not flame her, but she will recieve no support from me. Doing so, to me, is the equivalent of aiding the enemy.

I'll do my best to be respectful of any red names that post here, but only as long as they're being respectful. When we continue to be shown a lack of respect, then nobody should expect us to be respectful. I know you have your place Wes, and I don't envy you. Unfortunately, the ball, as has been for a long time, is in their court. They need to step up. We've given them ideas, patience, and money. It's time for them to step up and give us hard earned respect.

Aye, Zane.. i totaly agree. As i said somewhere else.. the mess would be way less"messy" if Tiggs had given us a head start or talked with Wes about that and Wes told us that we are going on long term implementation. *twitch*
Sure.. the Smugglers would have been grumpy, but not on Riot.. if i may call it that.

Oh, there would still have been a riot, but Tiggs would not have bore the brunt of it so bad, she wouldn't have had to make that lame attempt at defining postponed, and she would still have support from a lot of us. As it is, I think she burned her last bridge and is going to really have to watch her step.

Blixtev is a good example. He came in, said tell me about this, then told us he'd get it fixed. And he did. And he told us he did. That's what's gonna work with people, not mincing words with them. If there's one thing about Blixtev, he knows the player base knows a lot about this game, and he knows a lot of us are intelligent. And aside from the AS fiasco with the CU (and I really think he was making an honest attempt at what he thought was improving the game) his posts are models of what all red names should aspire to.

The patronising and attempts to "outsmart" us by changing the wording will not. The funny thing is, it's happened a bunch of times, even to the point of one idiot pretty much calling this community a bunch of liars.

And they're gonna have to come up with some communication besides the fact that they're postponing us AGAIN one of these days or they're gonna continue to piss people off.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

I havn't gone anywhere, still cranking out art for everyone

As it has been mentioned I'm not really in the loop as far as programming. I'm an artist. I have posted a couple of times but it usually doesnt work out too well. I'm still around though. I'm here reading the forums, logging into SWG every day and playing by your sides.

Good to see you around again Big Guy.

If you do get the go ahead to let us know what you're working on that'd be really great.

I'm sure the Droid Engineer boys would be eager for info on new droid chassis designs. If you've been involved in artwork/models for Smuggler content we'd love to hear about it to! I think everyone realises you can't always talk about those sort of things though.

Anyway, hope you enjoy your overt return to the forums better than last time - welcome back!

Edit - Just thought, if you'd like to poll the community about concept artwork feel free!

Hey Goliath, any chance you art guys could make some decent holsters in your spare time and then happen to slip them into the game without the bosses noticing? Please? Pretty please? You know you want a blaster strapped to your thigh just as much as the rest of us

I'll tell youone thingand this is not a kiss-up...I think the artists really do a nice job with SWG. I've been playing for almost 2 yrs and the graphics are a big part of what keeps me here. There's lots of other stuff out there (game wise)and in my opinion SWG hangs in with all of them from an art standpoint even though its not as new. Walking around on the corvette, exploring Kash...

I cranked up my display settings the other day to see if my 'puter could handle it and was knocked over.

I'm disappointed with the Dev team for all of the smuggler reasons - but there's a lot of reasons I stay and this is one of them.

Kudos Goliath and the rest of your team.

I wish I could remember the other name you post under... I do remember you did that too.

mind for clarifying, please? =) i musst have missed that

I can't remember off the top of my head who said it, but it happened awhile back. SWG was getting some backlash in the press because of letters being written to gaming magazines (not the stuff recently, this was a ways back). One of the management level guys basicly said that we were never promised anything, that we were never supposed to get certain things, etc. etc. It was rather ugly, and the guy hasn't really said too much since.

Now back to the beer and pie.
