Yeah, its all so true. since last August, literally thousands of ideas have been posted many of which are variations or repetitions of previously mentioned ideas. Once you get past all of those posts, then there's always the posts related to how to grind pistol/spice/slice followed byeveryquestion listed on"what not to ask your resident smuggler", followed by spice-n-slice pricing.

I would suppose that forum activity will greatly increase againas soon asany changes are made to the smuggler profession.

I like my trackball,I guess I will have to deal with it.

Does anyone know if it is possible to run two pointers at the same time? Some times I would like to use a mouse, and I hate to unplag and replug things. I am running XP home,if it matters

I'm not missing or anything, I've posted in that weekly update thread, there wasn't much to say though, so it was really half-assed I guess.Rather ashamed by it, but those are the breaks sometimes when I have alot of stuff going on this side of the computer.

With the devs at E3 it was a slow week as far as information flowing through me to you, Geevo said he wanted to spear head the document proposal, so I've let him have free reign with that. I'm going to be taking a more active hand in it soon though, as we need it to be done.

Participation though is at a rather big low for many reasons. We have lost many of our more vocal members of this community in Solo4114, Kav, ElectricNomad there is a rather large vacuum now in our forums which will take a long time to get over. A few others remain of the old-timers, but I know one reason I don't actively push ideas on many threads that I'm seeing today, is that they are rehashes of ideas I've seen in the past. I don't mean toseem negative or against any of those ideas, but after all this time, some of us have seen pretty much everything and it's hard to rework threads that are slight alterations to ones we've worked on before.

In short, many of us are getting tired. After writing, debating and refining for so long, trying to put ideas in an ordered manner, coming up with entire profession overhaul documents and otherwise providing all these things from our blood, sweat and effort, it's very difficult to, once again, write another fricken document. Stalling tactic? A delay? Heck I know developers read this forum for ideas, one for certain, so it gets wearisome that our communities energy ispushed into that template of 4 or 5 pages.

One thing I was waiting a bit for, was the space expansion at e3 so they could share more. Obviously with the mention of a 'privateer' function for the smugglers, that is apparently part of the expansion, I am getting rather annoyed when things we may need done or want in our revamp may be decided on over there, with no visible communication with our community.

So while I have to resolve things on my side, I'm most assuredly reading everything here and I'll certainly do what I can to help.

Like Caylin said, we've had so many ideas posted in the past that just about any "new idea" anyone posts is either repeating or another spin on an old idea. We have a number of complete, well thought out revamp documents that include a great number of ideas that have been thoroughly hashed over by the community.

I think rather than continuously posting "new" ideas, we should start by looking back to those great documents, finding the parts everyone likes that fit within the restrictions given to us and using that as a starting point. Then we can put in other things to fill in the holes left by stuff that are not within the restrictions given (maybe by changing it so that it does fit).

/Agree

I have to keep telling myself that i'm fairly new on the board, but I do recognize that there are hundreds of great ideas floating around, most that were originated w/in the first few months after launch.

I guesss I find myself more of a problem-solver than an idea-person. I like to work around issues or find new ways to make something happen. So i'm not terribly useful until the doc is done and there's a continuous discussion w/ the dev team on the how's and why's. I'm a good devil's advocate (that's why i'm on retainer)

Tried that with my spice focus thread. It sank into oblivion in 2 days. I seriously just say give the Devs Caylin's revamp plan. Nothing is getting accomplished. All I'm seeing is thread after thread of "we're getting screwed again" I swear, this community has gotten so used to complaining when an opportunity such as our revamp hits them in the bloody face they sit there, blink, and complain about a bloody nose. Just bloody agree on something so Geevo can put it in the community revamp doc. for **edit**s sake...

I've got it. I'll rip apart all the revamp docs piece by piece and start a poll for each. Maybe people will take the time to type "yes" or "no."

And yes, I'm more than slightly irritated.

HI all! I'm on of the ones that have been "missing". I've just been moving and taking a HUGE break after my killer final exams... I've had to hook up this dandy 56k modem too (which I oddly like )

About the calm winds around here... I personally feel that once my brain saw the possibility of being able to change things.. it kinda hit a brick wall. I feel like I can pass through that now. Part of that wall to me was the fear of all the possibilities... that we actually had some control. And ina kinda way, I feel that now my mind is looking for the solution to situation. Finding solutions like this takes a moment to just sit back and do nothing until it comes and hits you! That's how it is with me anyhow...

I see alot of you really worked up that no one seems to be active around here... I have not said a word, but this is something I really care about I think it's a natural thing to have a period of "quiet" after something happens to a community like this... it's nothing to be afraid of people. It's just natural. So go with the flow Anytime now, this place will start breaking apart with energy

Think of it like this. Your teacher assigns you a challenging paper to do - only thing is that it's due 6 months from now. You take a sigh of air and put it off for five and a half months. Hahahaha. That's what's happening here i bet also. (probably mainly). Wait until the papers due... that's when the real poodoo starts hitting the repulsorlift cooling fan.

Yep, use one PS2 device, and use a USB device for the other, that is actually what I do because I love my trackball (marble FX) but my wife hates it so I have a USB optical mouse for her.
