Thread: Jerks

10k per slice is becoming more standard now, I don't accept less for fewer than 10 slices. Moreover, anybody who balks at the price or comes back with clever witticisms like "you are a bi.tch" gets added to the ignore list without even being told and without argument.

Typical exchange:

Chump "Hi I need some pistols sliced"

Me "10k per, I am at _insert location_"

Chump "That is way too f'n high! never mind"

/addignore chump

This saves a ton of headaches. The advice of some of the above posters is solid. Open up a slice shop, in the long run it is more money, less time consuming and several degrees less frustrating.

Been on since launch, but I have a couple of Newb questions:

I have been Master Smuggler for 10 months now and have never had anyone I felt like had to be added to my Ignore list, so i have never used the /addignore command.

My questions are:

1. After someone is on your Ignore list, and they send you a tell... do they see anything that lets them know they have been ignored?

2. Do you see anything at all (in spatial)if someone on your Ignore list sends you a tell? Such as "Joe tried to send you a tell but it was ignored." ?

I havent had any problems with public slicing. I don't mind doing it, but when I get a line at Jabba's for slicing, that gets annoying, because I am trying to do the themepark, I'm not there to slice 3 sets f composite armor.

Now my main income is slicing for a weapons smith, no, I still make at least 1mil a week (which is all I need) and I get whatever weapon I need at a good price.

My usual reply to "That's way too expensive" is "That's a damn shame." I don't need to slice for cash, as a matter of fact it's less productive than a solo group. As a matter of fact, I've been /anon for months now. People still track me down and bug me for a slice then complain that it's too expensive, though.

Yeah..had a similar discussion.

Him: Can you slice for me?

Me: Sure, doing solo missions, but I'll meet you in MO in about 5 minutes.

::5 minutes::

Him: I have 4 weapons to slice.

Me: No problem. 5k each.

Him: You must be a new smuggler. Slices are only 100cr per %.

Me: Maybe once upon a time. I slice for 5k each.

Him: I 'm not paying that.

Me: Ok. Sorry you feel that way. Best of luck.

Him: Don' t you know you're going to ruin the smuggler profession?

Me: LOL I promise nothing I do could ruin it any worse. The best feature of this profession is I can trek thousands of meters to meet people, taking time out of my busy money making schedule to have them tell me how to do my job. Or I could just play dead.

Him: You're an idiot.

Me:I know. But not because I charge 5k a slice...but because I'm still having this discussion. Good luck finding a smuggler. Bye now.

I just don't get it. I really don't.

From what I understand, you get no message from them and they just think you're ignoring them. I believe in you do not see their chat bubbles on screen either.

If I get a jerk I have a response macroed in with some roleplaying elements.

Guy: (instert lame that's too much exspression)

Me: "Look pal I'm a smuggler. I smuggle things. If you need some wires cut find a nerfing electrician."

Granted I don't smuggle anything but a guy can hope right?

ive been master smuggler for about 2 weeks, i slice for my guild no prob. I have recieved a few tells in the past couple of days asking for people to slice their stuff. One guy wanted a full suit of comp sliced i told him 20k just for $hits and giggles. He said no way that it was way too much. I was saying to myself this guy has got to be kidding. Then a few more with the slices of weapons , one wanted 1 weapon done i told him 10k , he told me to go screw another guy wanted a crate of weapons and said if I was good he'd let me slice more. He wanted me to do it for 10k for like 25 PH's and then the rest of his stuff. I said no, even though he was supplying the wuk's I said min is 5k per weapon ( try to cut some kind of break) and he said forget it. Im on bloodfin and it irritates me when people think 10k is a lot. Man you could slice a weapon get a really nice damage slice high 30's and they can make 100-500k off of it maybe more. So I too will not be slicing for that guy , we need to stick together the few that acutally are here (on bloodfin that is)

I've taken a page from Eric Cartman's school of business and started using the "You can't come" technique for total strangers. Although having been a smuggler for almost a year, there aren't many strangers left :-/

Um, am I the only one who doesn't know what your talking about? I know who Eric Cartman but would you care to elaborate on his "You can't come" technique? (I must have missed that episode)

Cartman inherited a million bucks and bought a theme park. He took out ads and siad that no one could come, it was only for him. He was serious. Tons of people began to show up and try to get in. Top business people thought this was orchestrated by Cartman and pronounced him a business genius for establishing the "you can't come" marketing technique. A bunch of people copied it in the business world. He ended up losing the park, but I forgot why.
