I was contacted by a guy, Esquibar on Bloodfin. He said he wanted 30 weapons sliced for 3k a slice.
I replied saying I charge 10k a slice and might do a bulk discout but not to 3k a slice.
He then claims he just dropped master smuggler and slicing was not worth 10k.
I tell him I charge what I think my time is worth especially with the auto-pull nerf.
He says whatever.
So it could end there but it does not.
A few minutes later he contacts me saying he has found a guy who will do it for 3k a slice.
I respond with "So?" (exact quote)
He says "So he's cool. And you're a b!tch. Welcome to ignore. lol"
That makes me mad, so instead of retorting in futility I go to report him for calling me a b!tch. But the game won't let me report him because it finds no chat logs for his name. Apparently you can say anything in tells and get away with it.

So I do the next best thing. I decide to spread his name around the Smuggler boards. If you are on Bloodfin do not slice for Esquibar.

People like him is one of the reasons why I have stopped slicing for the public. That and I can make way more selling weapons and doing solo missions.

Psh. F$%&'im. /denyservice him, have your guild ban him from town, and spread the word mouth to mouth amongst the smugglers on your server that he's a d!ck.

I hate people like that (I am not a smuggler now, trolling forums to find something I like ) I always treat people who slice for me with respect, and usually try to roleplay with them. When people do stuff like that, and as was said, smugglers stop slicing for the public, that ruins it for people who aren't jerks. I've had to look for a whole day before I found a smuggler, and that's because our guild one logged on.

The question is, do you really want to deal with someone like that anyway? Would he not just have ended up on your ignore list? He would have ended up on mine.,,,

it takes me forever to find smugglers and the prices have jumped up huge amounts since my last character. i understand why. i smuggled with my last toon for a while and it sucked slicing for the public.

right nowmy guild is looking for somebody to master smuggler so we can doeverything we need withinthe guilditself without having tohunt down slicers. with tools abounding these days, im surprised more smugglers arent charging 10k a slice just to keep from having to deal with these dorks.

if i did drop my template, which im not seeing as how i RP, i would only slice for my guild and i would do it forfree. my guild takes care of eachother so i would have no need to buyresources to make my tools or buy a factory. just stick power in one that i have admin rights to.

i think more and more smugglers are doing this. it kinda sucks for theoutside community, but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

if you are jedi and you complain, i have one question for you. how many remember permadeth, kenetic damage lightsabers, and lightsaber TEFs?

well stop slicing for public, get a vendor and run a shop

you'll get all the advantages of slicing

- Slice whenever you want, for the amount of time you choose

- Do like 20 times the money you could do slicing for public

- Get rid of jerks

- Make cash even if your're offline, it's always nice to log in with 1Mcr more into your bank account

Take T21s, T21s over 500 damage usually sell around 100k/130k, that's most slices over 29% basically

buy 50 crated T21s that'd be around 1Mcr, wich is 20k/T21

take the worst case, you get about 10 slices over 29% damage
30 mid end slices (average of 30k benefits)
10 low end slices (no benefits)

so you sell your 10 T21s with more than 29% damage for 100k a piece, you get your million back
sell the 30 mid end ones for 50k a piece, get 1.5M benefits
sell the 10 low end ones for, let's say 10k each (for noobs and stuff), you get 100k

so you start with an investment of 1Million credit, get 2.6M out of it, so that's 1.6M credit, for what ? let's say 1 hour of work slicing and stocking the vendors.

now you don't sell only T21s, u can also sell other stuff

VKs are great sellers, and many TKMs are "u83r 1337 d00dzz" who grind stupid rancor missions, they have the ca$h and don't care bout spending it.

Speed sliced VKs (1.4/1.5 speed) can go for 50k to 70k
Damage sliced VKs over 190 go for the same price

With all the swordsmen around, sell powerhammers, almost the same benefits than T21s

U can also sell some LVAs for pikemen, cause it's good to be stocked with more "uncommon" stuff, think about Dxr6 and Laser carbines as well.

where you can get serious money

get a geoblaster schem (costs about a million or two), get 5 sets of 6 or 7 identical yellow or green cubes (greens are quite popular for geoblasters), find a WS you can trust, get 5 factory runs of geoblaster, u can already give like 500k to the WS for the job, get em all sliced and if you sell the worst ones for 200k you'll be under the market price.

same goes for scythes (a little harder to make series but still possible) .

Dxr6b Disruptor rifles are great cash as well, cause they can easily go for 100k unsliced, a well sliced one can go for up to 400 or 500k.

get some PvP weapons as well, Jawa rifles, stun batons and such things.

no more jerks, alot of cash, no more grinding for cash, just play as you want, most time I play, I go and help people, do duels, or simply hangout in ID salons, just watching the cash come in.

all you need is a good place to set your shop, a good stock, and some good advertising on server's boards and/or with barker droids (they really work great to increase sales). your best bet would be a vendor in a popular mall, mine's right next to one of the two most popular malls on eclipse, so I'm ok with traffic. Bestine, Theed, Coronet, Dantooine's Mining Outpost are the most frequented places, so set up your shop next to one of those cities.

I'm a Bloodfin Smuggler and taht guy can officially kiss my ass. I won't slice for him. I'm going to start a slice shop too, but I still like slicing for the public, sometimes, for the social aspects. I like it when you slice something for 32 or 33% and the person gets all excited like you actually had anything to do with it.

I respond with "So?" (exact quote) I would go: "Here's a cookie, welcome to ignore." That way,I would be the one forcing him out of my bussiness, not the other way around. Also, he sounds like the whiny bi.tch type, he'd likely be frothing at the mouth once you said that. In fact. You probably should just say that he's ignored, and wait a few moments, so you can see such witty comebacks as "You suck."

I get the feeling how hard it is to find a master smuggler from some of my more regular customers. I get at least one /tell everyday when I log on (if i'm not in cnet, then i have like 10 /tells waiting for me) . usually from a guildie or a regular customer. almost always they say something to the effect of "man, i'm glad you got on, I've been looking for a smuggler all day."

fortunately i've not run into a big jerk slicing for the public yet, although i dont do it that often. most all my clients already understand the randomness of slicing, and some of them even pay me twice the price that i ask for (i think i charge pretty normal prices, 50k per suit comp, 200creds per % sliced). but i'm sure i will one day recieve a /tell along the lines of "d00d, can u slice my wep for 50% damage????" and even after i explain to him how slicing works, and he gets a 21% speed slice and then tells me "WT@?! u destroyed my wep u (insert crude/profane word of choice here)!"

Wow, and to think, I charge 4k per slice. If it's a full suit, or the person strikes up a conversation or is generally cool, I might drop a couple thousand creds off the overall price.

Amen to that. Some of the best times I have as a Smuggler is going to Mos Eisley where all the new folks start and helping them out with free slcies on thie low level weapons and armor. I actually helped one guy out by giving him one of my sliced weapons and we bacame friends after, not even hunting or running missions, just chatted every night we were on about SWG. He left about three weeks ago after only a few months online and left me his entire shop of stuff (right now I estimate it at about 75Mil worth of gear to sell) and then tipped me 6.5 mil just before he signed off for good. Needless to say, I was shocked but to think it all began with one sliced striker pistol.
