That is right get the DEVs back to work on our issues. No need to do their work for them they need to do it. The Combat Revamp and Smuggler Revamp both are need ed and the DEVs have the inside track on what needs to be done. They know the state of the profession --hosed. Thye just want to see if you do.
They need to give us --a state of our profession and their vision documents and let us-- tell them --what we think

The devs want a few things from me, including an issues list (short version), an issues list (long version) and a state of the profession. Caylin’s excel sheet is pretty much the short version done and dusted. I’ve read your replies to his post and looked it over a few times since and I can’t think of anything else that needs to go there for now, so I’m going to move straight onto the more detailed issues list. There’s also a state of the profession report to do, so I’ll be getting started on that.
As the profession is in the exact same state as it was many months ago (aside from a few minor things and the JTL issues which are currently almost completely unrelated to the ground game issues and shouldn't be bothered with unless the developers clearly state that they intend to integrate both the ground and the space games, in which case all profession correspondents should make a 'integration with JTL' document), I would recommend a lot of copy/paste action in cooperation with Caylin.
These 'state of the profession' report requests are getting quite silly already.

The problem I see here is this, The DEVS know the state of our profession. Why do we need to make a new state of profession list. It hasn't changed since the last broken promi....I mean revamp push back. We can certainly add space issues to the long and short issue list but our profession is still broken and still nerfed to hell.
**cough---spice downer---cough**
Slicing is still a joke and we have one whole tree that is completely useless unless you play in the Joke of a Civil War I mean GCW. They should call it theGalactic Civilized Waltz, and hand out prizes because it isn't a war.
Well whatever sorry for the rant I just have this ominous feeling that in the next few weeks we will see another Jedi Revamp on the schedule before the Combat Rebalance, GCW revamp, chef revamp, BH revamp, doctor revamp, nother jedi revamp, image designer revamp, nuna revamp....ect...

Playing devil's advocate, getting Wes to do this work for the devs may not be for the devs' benefit so much as ensuring the new corresponent is on the same page and up to speed. By 'redoing' the same work, Wes will become more familiar with the issues by osmosis, and also ensures Wes and devs can communicate effectively without using Caylin's wordsmithing. As it stands, the devs and Wes both might understand Caylin's message about smuggling, but that's not one on one communication, even if the issues are the exact same.
I don't say I actually believe this is the case, but it is a typical business excercise.

Hi Wes, good luck pulling together the profession issues, we do have rather a lot of them.
When you submit it I'd like for you to emphasise two things, if possible:
1. Smugglers have been waiting over a year for a meaningful overhaul for their profession. We have constantly suggested improvements, tweaks, content additions and have repsonded to every request to re-submit our issues and suggestions with good grace. People have stuck with smuggler through the neglect, the nerfs and the delays. We expect nothing less now than a complete overhaul of the profession with a considerable addition of content. We also expect to have our opinions heard on our revamp - I'm sure that's Greenmarine's plan, but the previous 'revamp' which was outlined and which we turned down was done with zero input from the community.
2. While I understand that the Dev team will be reticent to commit to timescales (for a whole series of reasons) we have now spent a year and a half waiting for our profession to get some attention. Some indication of when we can expect to see our revamp is now needed.

Cliff Notes Version of "State of the Smuggler Profession ":
1) See previous state of the Smuggler profession
2) Add in Made worse by JTL. No Smuggler content and no slicing components
3) Add in worse now -- no auto-pull from crates.
There you go Wes -- all done

Well, that’s it really. Reading back on myselfit doesn’t sound like I’ve done that much.. so, er, I’d better get on withit.
Wes, as you said in your into post....
You are not here to re-make Smuggler. You are not here to come up with amazing new ideas and totally change the face of Smuggler.
You are here to take all of the issues, concerns, and suggestions that the whole Smuggler community has, put it into a logical order, and offer it to the developers for them to check out.
From what you've said, you're doing it. That makes you a good correspondent.
Correspondents that use their position for their own agendas are worthless. That is not you.
If I could plaster one post on all of the SWG boards and coat it in gold to show how much I think it has value to me, this would be the one. Spare us the humility Wes, I know that you are a great guy and that you will perform very very nicely as our correspondent.
Furthermore, this is the best definition of what a correspondent should be that I have ever seen, and I think that if you (Wes) read it that it will be an excellent guide for you.
Give 'em hell man.

However, I did submit the five names to Tiggs before the deadline today, so here's hoping something happens soon.

Sounds good Wes, work hard for us but dont burn yourself out to much. It will be a long time before they give the smugglers any "love" like they have promised.
