Dear Smugglers,
I just wanted to stop by and apologize to anyone who thought the Tuesday Tip was meant as an insult. I certainlydidn't want itto be taken that way.
I'm also sorry I couldn't offer this olive branch early, but I've been out ill for a couple of days.

I will only speak for myself. I think this was a case of horrible timing and some level of insensativity. I certainly don't think you were intentionally thumbing your nose at smugglers. I think the irony of posting this little macro when many long-term smugglers are getting banned and are quitting the game was simply too much for many to stand.
It does seem that the state of the smuggler professions and the smuggler players are being ignored. We get nothing but delays, changed plans, etc. Again, I don't think that this is intentional, but frommy perspective it has gone beyond acceptable. I'll be leaving soon as well and won't return until there are substantial changes to this profession.
Once again, I will suggest that more communication could avoid situations like this. Well.... content would be better, but communication would be a close second.

I do appreciate you coming by and saying this. It would have done a lot more good to come here sooner.
Although I don't believe it was intentional, it was certainly insensitive and shortsighted to use that as a TT.
Now I'll say the same thing to you that I said to Tiggs a couple days ago. We, this community and the team in Austin, really need to have some sort of dialogue on where this profession is going. About why there is such a disconnect between the way we view smuggling. About why, time and again, we've been tossed aside in favor of other things. We may need to keep the inflamatory comments out of a discussion like that, but you guys need to own up to the facts and history of this profession and the treatment it's recieved, and tell us what you plan on doing in order to set the record straight and fix the fact that we still cannot smuggle after 2 years.
In other words, TH, as I said above I appreciate your apology, but it's time for you guys to put your programming where your mouth is (yes I know you're not a programmer but you pass our feelings on to the team). It's time to fix the wrongs of the past and put the underworld in this game, complete with smuggling.

I won't put TH on the spot and ask him here, but once those un-announced plans Tiggs spoke of are actually announced, perhaps then it might be easier, indeed a good opportunity to start discussing such things with us?
The fear I have is that those plans have NOTHING to do with us and we'll still be sitting here holding the bag of empty dreams. As I mentioned to Tiggs, if they have no control over something, I've got no problem with that, but damnit tell me that. Wait, wait, wait. Waiting got us to where we are at now. I would prefer to start something now so we can actually discuss substantial things. There's a huge gap to be bridged, waiting won't fix it.
Note: This isn't directed at you Wes, just saying how I feel about the entire situation/state of the profession/state of the game.

Yep, that's about the only thing holding the entire damned process back.
Secrecy leads to conspiracy theories,
Conspiracy theories leads to hate,
Hateleads to flaming...
...and cancelled accounts, over what could really be minor issues, hence the dark side.

QFE. A well-stated and non-inflamatory post. Once again: well done Zane.
My sincere hope is that this message will get through to the proper folks at SOE.

Then again - why don't we start today?
I too, think it wasn't malice - it was just stupid.
But the deed is done, either way.
In my world: even if I don't do something wrong on purpose, i try to make things right.
And you TH (and the ones you relate to the community for) have a way to set things right.
This is not to bait you (although you all know how that goes),it is to make you talk to us in a way (and about things) that is long overdue.
Every minute you delay is wasted, and i can only remind you again - it's the emotions of real people here (yes it's only a game - but also friends and time). And since it is, you should show some courage, step on a few toes - do the right thing.
Respectfully

I will.
TH, please tell us what the "un-announced plans" Tiggd spoke of actually are. We've waited through countless delays. When something is implimented (new slicing) it doesn't even resemble what was provided as a concept. When something needs adjusting (slicing loot drops) it swings so far to the other end of the spectrum that itmakes things worse.
We deserve to know what is in store for our profession and when wecan expect to see something on the TC.
