I have no problem with San as a person. Im not some tender skinned orphan that gets all insulted by his curse words... but he was a community relations person. Put there to support the Smuggler community as a whole.

The majority of people that spoke up (not just a few) didnt like the way it was heading. San however did, or didnt have the energy to fight and so he didnt truly relate what we wanted or what our concerns were.

As to the rest... god DAMN some of you are stupid.

This ... yet... again... is... not... about... the .... imp... crackdown... being... anything... other... then .... a joke!

it is about giving the imperials and droids the ability to carry illigal items.

So i am gonn ask you. And i want an answer.

How are you gonna feel when they include the Kessel run?? or Imperial Blockades... but Imperial ships can carry the same amount of illigal items and/or droids as well andget through to do the run?

This was about Smugglers getting the chance to Smuggle in the future for other PLAYERS.

We were hoping for something more then a stupid bugged mission terminal system like the bounty hunters have. Would we have gotten it?? We dont know...

but since Santsu didnt even really try... we never will know.

So when your doing Mission terminal delivery missions instead of Smuggling content for other players... thank San and yourself for not reading the whole threads.

If you think NOW the devs will take away the Imperial 100% immunity your fooling yourself. it aint gonna happen. not now... notin the Space expansion.

As I stated above... Imperial Officers SHOULD have the ability to "sneak" stuff through... however they should have a higher penalty if caught in my eyes... as in... loss of rank... money... items... what would happen IRL if something like that were to happen...

And truthfully... no... I don't want to smuggle for other players at this point in time... the future maybe... would have to think about it... but as it stands now I never put my title up anymore because if I do I get tell hell... and become a dam "slice monkey" so that is all I need is to be bugged while I am off fighting something to have to take a box of stuff to some guy on Lok... ya see my point... I have better things to do then play FedEx for players... NOW... when Space Expansion comes out... that will be different... no standing around and waiting for shuttles... I can hope in my ship... and really "smuggle" things past Imperial blockades... and things like that.... and as far as Imps being able to do same thing... how often you think a Rebel is gonna pay and Imp to take his stuff... not likely it will happen much... as who is gonna trust an Imp to give thier stuff back....

And yes... they may change it... as we have thus far seen in "Nerf Wars" things change on this game... and nothing is set in stone... for example... the path to Jedi... don't think things can't change... cuz they can... and will...

Truthfully...
San did try... alot more than you know... you may have seen the his posts in the boards you were never supposed to see.... BUT you never saw the coutless PMs he had back and forth with TH, or other devs... so before ya jump the gun on him... maybe you should know the whole story... the devs would have never done what you wanted them to do for this patch... no mattter what he said... in the future... well that is debatable....

Shut up newb. Lol just had to say it...

Any way... why ARE we complaining? We are getting the revamp soon, that's when things will happen and possibly change. And the Crackdown as far as I can see is no where to be found, so whats the big deal? This Crackdown was just an insignificant littlebattle, the revamp is the major battle that we will need to turn the tide. So stop fighting and squabbling over the last piece of pie when the next one is coming out of the oven.

And you know this because...

We all saw what San posted in the correspondants forum. But any PMs are pure hearsay. What we do know is that San thought we were a bunch of whiny crybabies. So if you expect anyone to believe that he presenented our concerns differently elsewhere, you are going to be dissappointed.

Unless you have some evidence to support that San was fighting for us, I suggest you present it now, or drop the whole fantasy PM arguement.

Now that SanTsu has shown his true colors, I think it is safe to say, he did us all a favor when he quit.

Exactly, it was the evidence that he never gave us. I'm not saying that we ever asked him to list each and every post of his so that we can scrutinse them to bits.

No, I asked him a few times to tell us what he was posting about the issue just so that we could help him out but consolidating the issue as there were a LOT of threads floating about.

But he totally ignored those requests and basically told us to bugger off as he was not accountable to us. Now we know why.

And once again, the issue was not about the damned Crackdown. It was about the Imperial penalties (or lack of). Just because the Crackdown turned into a joke does not mean San was right or justified. Anybody who followed what was going on in TC could have told you that.

thank you, Ostrecized, your completely vaccuous concerns about the future of the smuggler has helped me understand why San flipped out like a ninja in this thread.

I don't think his concerns were meant to help you understand why San flipped out (...and kill people all the time ) like a ninja. The point of this thread was to let people know that, contrary to what SanTsu told us, the smuggling community's concerns were not adequately represented. Then he comes in here once he has been outed and starts throwing around childish insults and telling everyone that he doesn't care. He was right, a vocal majority was wrong. He still feels this way. Okay, so now we have some one in the position who will (hopefully) do a better job of voicing the concerns of this profession whether he agrees with those concerns or not.

We can debate the importance of this publish until our fingers fall off from typing. We can debate how much of this publish should or should not have been directed at smugglers. We can do a lot of things, but I think that the important issue that 'nomad was originally trying to bring up was the simple fact that SanTsu did not clearly communicate that a majority of posters on this board were decidedly upset about the implementation of the 'smuggling' aspect of the publish. He apparently failed to perform the base of his job description: Communicating to the dev's how we, as a profession, feel about our role in the game and any proposed changes that will effect said role.

Why did San flip out? Simple: He is not mature enough to handle the pressures that go along with being the voice of a community when that community is questioning your job performance. It is difficult to argue a counterpoint after his remarks in this thread.

The imperial crackdown is the first attempt in SWG to define things as being illegal.

However, low level imperials and up are able to break the lawwith no penalties.

This is the problem we have with the crackdown. It sets up very bad precedence on what smugglers will be able to smuggler in the future.

But that is just the problem. Imperial Officers CANNOT get caught. They have 100% success rate in avoiding the scans. There are NO penalties for breaking the laws when as an imperial officer (who are medium rank and above).

I never like online representation who can't type, use punctuation, spell, the like. It's like having a person with a lisp and a bad pronounciation guide as your public speaker.

Oh, being an ass doesen't help either.

Sure, some blokes disagree rather strongly and vehemently with your views. Stir up a storm in the playpen. But **edit** man, you don't go telling 'em to shove sticks and stuff -- thats just childish.

Honestly people.... CAN WE JUST LET THIS THREAD DIE ?

I know allot of you have problems with the way things were handled... even though the only people who actually know "for sure" what happened along the entire course are the devs and San.

I know allot of the things that have been said in this thread have really PO'd people around here.

I honestly dont see ANY sense in this continuing in the forums here. Just let bygones be bygones.

Things have changed now... we have a new TEAM working for us all now... yes... I said TEAM

Things are now starting to get fully organized to go blasting our wayinto whatI see as a LIGHTNING STORM going into the devs office.

So in closing...

PLEASE JUST LET IT DIE PEOPLE.

Its really no use in kicking and biting after its already done and over.... just wasted energy IMHO.
