Different day, same ol' story, and it's still:

I have pretty much stoppped reading these boards cause they just depress me and piss me off. So whenever devs....whenever you feel like fixing our profession, go for it. I've been here for all the previous bogus fixes and pushbacks, and I'll probably still be here when you decide to get off your asses and do your jobs. Damn.... another 15 bucks down the drain. Why don't you take that and go hire yourselves a few school kids to give yourselves some more manpower. Sounds like you need it.

dont expect JustG to even bother reading the replys, he supposedly confiscated a broken legandary weapon from someone from the pa I was in yet, wouldnt answer questions on why another player was seen using it in game, and that was after his post saying it had been taken care of. (confiscated).


as too his comment above, just hire more ppl. why they bothered delaying fixing broken content (gcw, combat balance, smugglers) over hologrinding is stupid. I can understand making publish 9 more important, but I think they should have delayed the Jedi Trials not the other more important stuff.

Just a thought..Why not a mini-patch, for the Smugglers, included int he GCW revamp? No new skill trees, any of that.


Instead, a couple benefits added. One, spend faction at an opposing recruiter. 4:1at Underworld 2, 3:1 at Underworld 4, and 2:1 at Master.


Able to equip faction gear of either side, Overt or not. But if they fail a scan while covert, they immediately turned Overt as normal.


All part of the GCW, All skills that Han used in the movies (there's your continuity folks), and nothing but a few bits of coding, should be doable as part of the gcw revamp without adding any more to speak of to anyone's already heavy workload. No new art, no new code to speak of, mebbe a few dozen lines tops, and no new class revamp. Just something to make Smugglers feel like they're part of the GCW again.



No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

Well at least the devs are finally coming clean... Smuggler isn't now and never was on their radar for a fix. We didn't slip behind other priorities, we have never been a priority.


Now we have just gotten pushed out of 2004.


Great job devs. Wish you hadn't been so dishonest with us this whole time.

Well, hey ho, better it be fixed well than bodged. And having a large feature of JtL for smuggling will be good, and it makes alot of sense with running items between planets, avoiding blockades and the like, and smuggling people....all items which could eventually come planet side too (here's hoping). Anyhow, am more in the oppinion that if its worth doing well, then giving them (even) more time to do it, then all the better, than forcing them to throw something together now, then have everyone moan about how useless it is If a jobs worth doing, its worth waiting to get it done well.

Let me ask you something? How long does this **edit** need to go on? You revamp a jedi system....a part of the game that only a fraction of the players have access to. WHY ON EARTH would the dev team decide to revamp that system before a core game system. Smugglers have been waiting ever so patiently for a much needed revamp. When will this ACTUALLY come? Are we just being led to believe that we'll be getting a revamp? Think about it, the Jedi revamp "Phase 1" JUST went live on TC2. So in SWG Time the next publish won't be until sometime in the next 2 months. Im looking at maybe August before you even f u c king start the second phase of the Jedi Revamp. Which completely bothers me...REVEMP THE ENTIRE JEDI SYSTEM IN ONE PATCH! Then move on with another profession revamp. Smugglers have become the most patient of all professions. But god dammit enough is enough!!! Everytime i log into the forums its as if we have to wait until someone elses revamp is complete. why dont you just tell us that we will be the very last of the 33 professions to be revamped. I have ben waiting since i became a master smuggler (about 5 months ago)for this highly anticipated revamp. I've thought about it several times over and thought how you would improve it. Improve the smuggler system as its a vital part of the Star Wars "feel". All the time spent on revamping jedi could be put to better use. Sure, Jedi have their place in the Star Wars stories....but correct me if im wrong but dont people have access to games such as Jedi Knight or Knights Of The Old Republic if they really want to play as a full time Jedi? Now i dont want jedis in theis game to take offense to what im posting, im just fairly pissed off about the fact that the SWG Dev Team has become so complacent with how much money they're making and have pushed aside MANY customers who were much smarter then myself to cancel their subscription when they realized this game hasnt lived up to its standards that everyone had set for it. I have been patient enough, so tonight, i will be dropping master smuggler going to focus on a PvP tremplate and in a year or so when the smuggler revamp arrives I'll have cancelled my subscription by that time.

If smugglers needed an expansion to be useful, functional, or up to par...then why even bother to have the profession? Seriously. If all of us knew that smuggler wouldn't be functional until JTL, the community would have easily voted on disabling the damn thing.

Smugglers aren't given +25 patients at novice. However, we seem to have a +12 month delay on our revamp.

I don't mean to make light of the problems that you smugglers are having (I'm a pistoleer and know all about having a weak/useless profession).... but I think you can expect to wait a very long time to get a fix. To my knowledge, they have not even announced who will be the beta testers for JTL. They have promised to have it outby the fall (september or october). HA! Do they really expect to do beta in like 2-3 months. No way! It'll be atleast another year until JTL is out (unless they really don't fix any problems found during beta), in which case your smuggling revamp will be even further away!

WoW! First. I doubt anyone at SOE is actually going to sift through and read all these posts because "the large systems you're revamping need your full attention". I've been a smuggler ever since I got the game in Nov/03 and we've been waiting and waiting for a revamp... wait, why am I writting this? Nothing is going to happen... no one really cares about anyone posting messages on this board.


What is the deal with Jedi? Really, can someone explain it to me because I don't get it at all. There aren't that many in the game, yet they get all the publishes? I feel this project needs to be reeled in before you start losing subscribers. You guys are way in over your heads.

I know this will fall on deaf ears, but I'll say it anyway. Speaking as asoftware dev myself I have to say your (DevTeam) level of customer interaction is perceived as poor, no matter what you think. You need to revamp your dev/coding style to incorporate customer feedback in a much more effective way. If you're using XP, you're doing a poor job of it. Your dev management group needs to be reeducated, and you guys need to rethink your dev strategy from the bottom-up. I dropped out of this game several months ago, and returned hoping things are better. Although there is vast improvement overall, I can see your customer satisfaction is still low. Devs -- you need to change your image with the customers, especially with this group. You can't please everyone all the time, but if your interactions with this group is SOP, that definitely needs to change!
