Wow and I though jedi acted like babies alot. People getting offended over such a small thing. Please do you hoenstly think the dev's sit around thinking of ways to attack you personally? Grow up you childish bunch of ingrates. This tuesday tip like every other is nothing more than something to add a little flavor into the game. Did TH come up with it? No probably not, he most likely heard it from another source and though it was cool, so he passed it along. Or mabey it was another Dev that gave him the idea, and since these threads seems to be his baby, he posted it.If you got offended by my post, good, you fall into that winny sack of **** catagory, and need to get a ******* life. For the rest of you, glad to see some people on these forums don't act like spoiled little 10 year olds.
Okay -
no DEV is allowed to use the word "smuggler" in any way or form unless it's about an improvement or revamp.
Or he will be flamed to pulp.
There is a good reason for that - read the HISTORY thread and you will understand that it in now way compares to any other profession anymore. Read it - then post again - and tell us again we are out of line.

Expressed like that, I agree.
I understand frustration and all, but that Tuesday Tip thing was blown out of proportion to a frankly rediculus degree. I love this community, don't get me wrong, but I think right now some need a huge serving of beer and pie.
If this is true, why did the person from SOE who posted the tip originally lackthe insight to realize how much of a slap in the face this would be perceived as by the Smuggler community and post the NEXT Tuesday Tip?
These areCOMMON SENSE kinds of decisions here! Look at the uglyness throughout this entire thread. Is SOE ever going to learn from its mistakes?
I can't wait to see what you guys "mistakenly" do next!

Hello Folks,
I just wanted to comment on the Tuesday Tip that was posted yesterday. In no way was the tip meant as a slap in the face or to take shots at our Smuggler community. Tuesday tips are scheduled ahead of time and posted each week. If anyone was offended by the tip I apologize however our intentions were not malicious.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we generally havea Publish or a bunch of stuff posted about every 2 weeks?
I won't presume to say you're right or wrong, but I've got some hard information I can add to this mix. (A little late, but I've been busy lately.)
You and some other folks may be familiar with the Categorization of Every Documented Change to SWG I put together about a year ago. It was interesting as far as it went, but it only went up to just beforePublish 10.
After considerable time, the Combat Upgrade, and a bunch of other things, I've started working on version 2.0 of my categorization spreadsheet. (Blame Elyssa for encouraging me.
)I've gotten everything up to the most recent hotfix inserted, but finishing the categorizations is going to take some additional time.
However, I do have enough data to be able to tell you exactly the average number of documented specific changes to SWG's code base have happened since the very first hotfix.
Between the first date on which a change was documented (June 29, 2003) and the most recent date of documented changes (August 8, 2005), I count 3,270 changes. Over a span of 757 days (according to Excel), that is equivalent to SOE making and publishing just over four (4.32)code changes every single day since the first hotfix.
Four code changes every day for over two years is a productivity statistic that any softwaredevelopment group can be proud of, especially one working on a product as complex as a AAA massively multiplayer online game.
Of course that statistic blurs a lot of things:
- all changes are not equal (adding the Corellian Corvette counts for more than tweaking T21 stats)
- some changes have not fixed the problem they were intended to fix
- some changes have introduced entirely new bugs
- some changes were nerfs -- probably necessary, but still upsetting to people
All that taken into account, four changes a day for two years straight to the massive SWG code baseis stillimpressive. I don't know if you'd sayit's equivalent to a publish every two weeks, but it's darned impressive.
More to come. ![]()

soooo... what you're saying is that you're on auto-pilot over there, and you're in no way shape or form in touch with the current concerns and issues of the Player community?
To quote a great female, "Quiet Jedi. Grownups are talking."

haha.

ohh... hahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahaha.
Oh, one more thing Tiggs.
What are the Links to "In Development" "IN concept" for on the homepage. (Not that there were any updates lately) - but what are they for.
Someone sometime back must have thought it would be a nice idea to let people know what is happening,
EVERY OTHER MMO I KNOW DOES IT (hop over to COH) I bet their games have just about the same problems as SWG does - still they communicate their plans.
Is it some magic you don't possess?
So Tiggs, TH, JFreemann, anyone care to comment why other games seem to have no problems with letting their player base know what the DEVs are working on way in advance?
Head-scratchingly
