It's ok, I got JFreeman covered. If Tiggs tries anything, I'll rally the Brooklyn, Bronx, and yes, the Jersey boys. It'll be a rumble.
Why does everyone always forget Staten Island???
Tiggs I'm puting "We DIGGS THE TIGGS" Back into my signature. This is exactly the kinda stuff we have wanted to hear.
I know some of the people are not responding in the nicest way but just know. Everythursday when we have our smuggler forum "get together" We think of you and want to invite you. Since you are a little late to the party
That way he could answer to questions without laterhaving people on his back saying "But he said..."

While your here Tiggs, can you tell us if slicing will be the only loving we get or will there be real smuggler content some time soon (I hope) after the slicing revamp?

Completely off the subject here, but yeah, i like it too.
I actually LOVE Star Wars... unconditionally. (The movies... and the holiday special of course)
And that's never completely off-topic... we should all mention what Katalepsis said about every 9 Posts in every thread.
And Tiggs, thanks for the info.
You can trust Smugglers to lay low on that stuff... we're supposed to be good at keeping things... under control.

You know I have to say I'm a big fan of star wars. I'm even a fanatic according to my gf who thinks reading around 30 EU books is weird. I say well I had to do something while I was in school.
I like Starwars all six episodes. While some more then others I love them all. Also lemme say ROTW despite its Clone Wars ties had to me brought the StarWars-esqe experience much higher for me. Land and ground combines quests. the boba quests nym stuff the whole new quest system just feels better to me
Also...the new group oriented content is awesome and i love going out hunting with my guild or on strike missions againt imperial outposts and stormtrooper camps
So much fun!
I'm very happy i came back to the game. The best part is at work I can keep the smuggler forum refreshing and be filled with endless entertainment!
/toss pie up in the air!
/cheers
Thanks, Tiggs! And Thanks, JFreeman. You're our heros.
I'll second the idea that the kind of communication we want to see doesn't have to be detailed information on what being done for us and when, etc, etc. Honestly, I don't even care if you talk about our issues. When we had the Tiggs appreciation thread earlier, it was jsut enough that you posted into our flippant little soiree. It told me, as a player, that obviously our forum is being read to *some* degree, and that was like christmas come early.
So, I suppose what I'm saying, is if you want to actually discuss issues and deliver news to us, I'm all for it. But if you don't, and you still want us to feel like communication's there, all you need to do is join us in our silly little forum games now and then. Besides, some of the stuff in here is really kinda hilarious.
Personally, I'd welcome ANY dev that wanted to be part of this community and it's silliness, even if they never gave us any sneak peeks into the publishes and so forth. Because it's enough to know you're here. Heck, I'd be pleased as heck with just the occassional "TIGGS WUZ HERE" Graffitti post. I'd encourage that in fact, Tiggs, JFreeman, GreenMarine... anyone else that happens to swing through. Just take a quick few seconds to post up a new thread when you swing through, and say "I was here." Personally, I love everything else you give us, like in this thread(thanks for breaking the rule!), but I'd be happy just knowing someone was here today, this week, this month. I suspect you guys actually come through really frequently.
Okay, it wasn't short. Alas.
Personally I'd bet we are looking at fall for the actual SMUGGING content.
Why that isn't a higher priority than slicing is beyond my understanding. Smuggling really ought to be the main activity of a SMUGGLER wouldn't ya think?
I'd like to be proven wrong but with Publish 19 and slicing coming around mid July (based upon 2-3 weeks between publishes and time since Publish 17) AND the lack of any information other than what was posted In Concept months ago, I can't imagine it any sooner.
That doesn't work for me.

We have to make sure internally that things work properly first. When anything is fixed or added to the game it is introduced and checked that it doesn't make things go haywire. Then it is sent out to TC.
I'm not saying zero check, after all the dev would have reviewed it, but given current TC patch has sent things "haywire" (have you tried harvesting anything on there?) and the track record of putting things on TC even though they aren't in the next patch (Theatre managers) why not?
All it would do is get you some free QA time from TC players and make things go quicker, not slower (and it could really help attract more people to TC, which is desperately in need of more people)
It is not my call Red. I will bring your suggestions to the people that do make the call.
Software engineering is a complicated process. There is a load, literally thousands, of academic studies on what happens when people "push stuff" into a test center or to live quickly. The assumption that this will increase speed up or somehow make any, not just SWG, development team write code faster, is completely and totally false. If you want more information about how to actually increase development quality or reduce bugs ... etc, read the software engineering literature by Kent Beck or by virtually anyone at the software engineering institute at Carnegie Melon. Look into the CMM models or effort estimation models. There is scientific literature on this stuff, it is extremely unlikely the SWG team uses an ad hoc Software Engineering process (I would guess they are CMM 2 or 3). This stuff has been shown scientifically many times, and any interested forum user can look it up(CMM is especially enlightening if you don't know anything about software engineering already).
Simply put, just saying that they should "push things faster" accomplishes nothing. Writing code is a scientific process which has been measured countless times. Fresh ideas are welcome, but in order to integrate them into a production quality setting you need proof they work, or things go wrong.
Now, on the other hand, if you guys integrated some of the attributes of a process like the Java Community Process, that might help a great deal with "community feedback," although it might be difficult to apply to a MMORPG setting ...
Nope..I won't even come down for the cabin boy
