Player feedback is supposed to be a driving force in this game....on the subject of p.a.s. it is clear a majority of players support something of this type. I don't think it could be any clearer. Like I said earlier..this isnt a scientific survey, but it IS a good indicator of what players want. Lord maxx.....the main issue with your post and why it holds absoutely no credence is feasability and game balance. Having a command to unlock a jedi slot or increasing the slicing range dramatically like you said is something that is OBVIOUSLY bad for the game and would cause many problems. Letting a master smuggler pick their slice is bad for the game in what way? It may be bad for your pocketbook but lets get above the greed mentality for a minute and think about what makes for a happier customer base. I mentioned earlier....slicing is not meant to be a game balancing mechanism (if it is then we have much bigger problems to deal with) so don't try to claim that having random slices keep the game balanced, thats not our job, thats the devs job.

Bad for my pocketbook? Im a Teras Kasi Master and Master Pistoleer/Smuggler I would LOVE if I could have picked a damage slice for the 4 nym VKs I just had made...or the 2 nightsister vibro units Im saving for RK I would of course PICK to have a damage slice. So how is it saving my pocketbook? I would have only bought 2 nym motors if I KNEW I would get damage slices... So I would not have had to work as hard to raise the money..wooh Its alot easier on me now that I KNOW i can get damage slices Ill be able to work less to get that "Uber loot" thank god the game got easier because its too hard to get the powerful stuff...
Is it going to hurt anything for pas? I think so...it will hurt in the fact that you will not need to work as hard to get the more powerful weapons you want. Greed is a poweful motivator..Greed is not just credits, friend, greed is possesions and your greed of needing to have ultimate control over something that was designed to be random. It was made that way for a reason. Chance is part of a game. Being a smuggler should be about taking chances. You dont slice this terminal right maybe you get your fingers burned...you try to short circuit a master crafted weapon NOT BEING a weapons crafter yourself you may fry the whole thing...your lucky thats pretty much not an option now. You are messing with a complex piece of hardware and YOU greedy gods decide exactly how to amplify its abilities beyond what a MASTER weaponsmith can do. Dont talk to me of greed I played the game hard and played by the rules to EARN my weapons and if I get 2 speed slices on my RKs well maybe Ill just have to work to get some more nightsister vibro motors, maybe you can just cry to the devs to have them drop off meatlumps.
This is the most worthless, tainted poll that anyone has ever tried to pull off on any community.
Not only did he claim that this was for smugglers and then invite galaxy after galaxy to join, but the question is designed to skew results towards what he wants. Please, devs, if you read this, take that into consideration. This poll does not represent what the smuggler community wants. He broke so many rules of polling that I can't guess what this poll actually represents.
Of course non-smugglers are going to want pick-a-slice (at master of otherwise) because they want more powerful weapons more easily and at a lower cost. Right now, if someone falls into the mental trap of thinking they need a 30+ damage slice to use a weapon they have to bring me 6-10 weapons for slicing. Pick-a-slice will cut that number in half. Do I have a few speed sliced Krayt weapons that broke my heart a bit? You bet I do, but that is part of the game. If you think a Krayt Weapon with a speed slice is worthless, try using one with a critical fail at assembly.
Mor-Dan, I just noticed you don't have smuggler anywhere in your signature. Are you a smuggler right now or did you just buy some Nightsister Motors? I know you have only been posting on the Smuggler board for the last week - I really have an issue with you trying to represent our little gang of smugglers. At least our revamp is getting delayed so the more important aspects of our game (content anyone?) can be improved. Why do you people insist on trying to have a great system that makes us a ton of money altered when we have MUCH more pressing issues that need to be addressed.

B all the way!!
I don't know about any other smuggler, but if we are able to pick our slices, then first we shouldn't have to depend on a WS/AS for UK's. (which by the way we will be charged an arm and a leg for) because these would have to be of high quality. Also, our knives and clamps would have to be of high quality also.
Do you really want to pay 100cpu for your knife/clamp making materials?? I know I don't. Smuggler is not (in Star Wars anyway) a very lucrative profession. My point in case being Han Solo would not be running from Jabbas thugs if he was able to pay him back the money he owed for dropping his shipment. He'd just go to the nearest bank term. pull a million credits and /tip jabba the money he owed.
If we are able to pick our slices (attention PvP'ers) our tools will depend on good quality materials thus our prices would have to increase to cover the cost it takes to make said tools. How does 10-20K minimum sound for a rifle or chest plate?? You'd have people haveing a *edit* fit over our prices. People would refuse to pay the prices, and once again we would be a "broken" profession.
A smuggler by nature is a criminal. He is only looking out for HIS interest. That meaning that he does not care if the slice he performed is the result you wanted, as long as he is compensated for his time. He does not care if the materials used to create his spice are of good quality. As long as he is paid his credits. Afterall, if this was to change smuggler would go from being a criminal to a legetimate business man.
If you want to make money being a smuggler take up another combat profession or take up AS/WS and slice your own products. Leave slicing and spice making just how it is. If anything give us more spices to compete (then do not add any more spices or chef food) with the Chef re-vamp.
Oh something else that came to mind. Suppose someone comes up to you and asks for a an encumberance slice on their brand new 1 mil comp. suit and you for whatever reason accidently pick base effectivness slice and ruin their suit. You would be obligated to pay that money back. You can't use the excuse of being a criminal anymore because we can actually pick what we want to slice. I do not want to have to worry about that.
Next thing you know, people will be calling for a 100% increase in the slice they choose!!! Leave slicing alone, can't stress this enough.
B x 1000

As someone else said in another poll, stawpolls don't really mean much, but let's see if we can change that. Post link to this poll in your galaxy forum. if your profession uses weapons and armour, post a link in your profession forum. if you are a weaponsmith or an armoursmith... you get the idea.
Now, we all have an opinion on this, so let's try to steer clear of those. this isn't for you to sound off in other way that nto say i support, or i do not support. So, select A or B.
A. I think a system should be implemented that will allow Smugglers to choose their slice type.
B. I think random attribute slicing is the best way to go.
Now, (A) leaves a lot of room for discussion so, please don't discuss it. Whether you think only Masters should get it, it should be an experimentation style, all Smugglers should be able to choose, or whatever. If you just really think a smuggler should be able to pick the attribute they wish to slice, choose (A). If you think this fundamentally goes against Star Wars, the Smuggling profession, or generally think pick-a-slice is a bad idea, then you should vote (B). Let's give our Correspondent a show of support for all the daily crap he has to go through with us and the dev team and make sure the entire Star Wars Galaxy community knows about this poll. We turned away the crafting "fix", as the called it, by showing unwavering support for removing the "fix". Now let's let everyone know the SWG community thinks about pick-a-slice.
I vote A.
LOL I also just noticed that nowhere in your signature does it say that you are/have mastered Smuggler?? If you're hologrinding how can u be one?? BH can just as easily be one of your suspected professions thus you'd have to give smuggler up. It's funny that a non-smuggler is telling the rest of us how our profession should be re-vamped.

But you also said that you were a hologrinder which means that you're not a smuggler now. Thus you should not be making polls that pertain to smuggler.
then check my post again because you obviously missed the part where i said i AM a Master Pistol/Smuggler/TK. i will be dropping some pistol and TKM to master carbineer, and then dropping all of TK and Carbineer, plus down to 0/0/0/3 in pistoleer to master commando. i am thinking a BH build after that, since i have not mastered scout. something like master marks/scout, 0/0/4/0 BH, and 1/4/4/4 in smuggler. that would give me torso shot, eye shot, bleed shot, and last ditch. trust me, i will be a smuggler for a long time... the sucky part will be when i master CM. i am gonna hate having to get all that pistol XP again... (at least it isn't pistoleer though, right?)
I think the BIGGEST difference here is that the poll isn't recommending making slices WAAAAY powerful... just something that makes sense. It is logical to think that a smuggler with enough experience to be a Master would know which wires do what... and be able to adjust speed or damage accordingly. So it isn't like this poll is regarding something ridiculous. As to scientific, non-scientific who cares? In this format, it is IMPOSSIBLE to generate a truly scientific poll... but a poll that gives an idea about how people feel... if that was the goal, then this poll was clearly a success. There have been a lot of responses... some people wanted A, some people wanted B, other people wanted to make up their own poll but instead added 'C' to this one. Now, the dev's know that this game isn't a democracy, and that majority doesn't always rule, but there seems to be quite a bit of whining coming from people who voted B or made up their own votes -- which shows that you have very strong opinions. Those opinions, whether valid or invalid, sane or insane, are really what makes up a good poll. Unfortunately, limiting responses to only 'A' or 'B' and discouraging conversation fairly limits the usefulness this poll... instead of creating good dialog it has turned into endless criticisms of the poll creator.
Complaining about a poll won't really change the premise that the poll was founded on... so if you feel REALLY strongly about it then maybe you should make your own polls (I'm not speaking specifically to any one individual here).
