To bad this will probably do no good. SOE really needs to learn to fix what is broken in this game rather than replacing old broken systems with new broken systems.

I have been in this game sense day 2. Smugglers isall I have ever wanted to be, I mostly just do my own thing, and when I meet up with some one I role play. My guild has all but vanished, so I dont see much chance of me geting this loot. It whold make a lot more seens if the loot came frome NPC that smugglers would deal with. I am a Star Wars fan, SWG gave me the chance to leave out my dreams. I have never once thought about leaving this wonderfull game untill now. I know the devs. will not chang this, so I will probably just let my account run out and go quietly.

I'm rather against the whole looting thing too. If it's a matter of keeping stuff rare. just make it craftable but using space mined minerals or something. /sign.

this system makes slicing worth more... i like that idea.. make more money.. but the loot drops should only be obtainable through a smuggler quest terminal.. where we actually do delivery missions through space and crap... W H Y cant you devs come up with the kinda content like this eh?

even entertainers get mission terminals.. sheesh.

Wow, they deleted some good threads on this, I just don't understand the devs heavy handedness on discussion.


Said this before... some peeps may not like the loot idea, but my circles and guild are fine with it. It's like bringing tissues to the weaponsmith for some added umphhh to weapons, so the serious looters can bring some loot to the slicers to add some umphhh to slices. It's not needed, not necessary, but just some added punch to a slice. I wouldn't bother for most things, but sometimes I may want to have it for that odd primo slice. It's not the smugglers that have to do the looting, but the peeps who want the good slicing, just as they'd hand the tissues to the weaponsmith.


Nobig deal to slicing, if they have it, they get it, if they don't have it, then they get the next best slice.

Management change and credibility is expected & deserved, and really a requirement for me to desire to log in and not have my MMORPG time completely wasted. SWG's mismanagement, ongoing, lacks credibility. I have no desire to log into my toon, attempt to accomplish something, only to find out that my blue zebra, 12th level, with 20 badges, isn't going to be turned into tomorrow's 4th tier yellow monkey, and all the zebra's stuff is no longer of value. Without credibility, its just a duck hunt game that doesn't even keep score of how many shots land on a duck.

I know this will do no good and being a life long smuggler (since opening day 2 years ago) I can honestly say I appreciate the effort, but having an entirely loot based system for smuggling is NOT fun. DWB is NOT fun to go through just for a chance at getting smuggler components. Perhaps as some suggested using some loot items like tissues to increase the effectiveness of a master slice, but all level 2+ slices requiring looted items? Come on...that is just not fun.

At the very least, make 'Simple Toolkits' craftable. Heck, make them user-only ifyou don't wanna see them in the bazaar/vendors.Don't allow them to be crated by factory runs, even.That would bejust fine with me. Butat least let us do a halfway decent slice. No reason a 'Master Smuggler' should be unable to craft a [quote] 'Simple' Toolkit.
