Just a quick question about how everyone else handles customers who don't pay for their slices. Let's say you're asked to slice a set of armor or Krayt Jawa or CDEF pistol. After the job is done, the person says they either can't pay due to a lack of funds or won't pay because the slice was too low/price is too high/insert BS reason here. Do you keep the item until they agree to pay YOUR price, or negotiate a lower one?
I realize a certain amount of the burden falls on the smuggler to let thecustomer know in advance what their fees are, however amid a flurry of /tells this isnt always possible. I've got my prices on my bio to let the few people who actually look at it knowwhat my prices are but people don't always look there.
So, how do other smugglers handle this?

I just don't slice for people because a lot of them are a pain in the rear to deal with. However what I have heard of a lot of people doing is putting the item for sale on the bazaar. Say you charge 3k each slice and some guy has you slice a scatter pistol for him. For whatever reason he won't pay you, just go put it on the bazaar at 6k. Either he buys it and you get paid, plus he pays extra for being a hassle or someone else buys it (for them its a great deal) and you still get paid. If it is a suit of armor list each individual piece for 6k.

If they can't pay, they don't get their item till they do pay.
Unless I'm feeling particularly generous or I'm not running low on credits.

i tell them at the beginning that i charge 100 credits per percentage and i tell them the approximate range of my slice at my level (slicer 15-30%). That way they get what they pay for...and so far, most people have agreed that it's a good way to go. I haven't had anyone refuse payment, because they knew what they were getting into. if they did refuse to pay, the gun or armor would be going in my house on the wall of shame...from there, they have 5 days to get until it's officially mine to dispose of. Like i said, there is nothing on the wall of shame as of now.

I think its generally acceptable to hold on to the weapons until payment.
Unfortunately I was a victim once of someone taking my weapons and hopping on a shuttle. Apparantly there were multiple people. THat chap was banned prettey quickly.
As long as its not too regular an occurance and you build up a large number of tickets against youI reckon your ok.

My price list is in my bio and I tell people to review it before they agree to trade,I will then wait for an ok from the client. Now with this said Ive still run into the "I dont have the money" losers. I can tell you Im a hard arse about it, I tell them that they did agree to my price and will not receive any of there weapons/armor back untill they get the credits, its just that simple. Funny thing; they b*tch about it but either pay right there on the spotor run to thebank to get the credits. Dont let people try andpull this on you becausein most cases thay have the money.Its one thing to try and lower the price before you start the service its another to try and do it after you have done your work. Dont let people like this dictate your price. Its like the "you break it you own it" rule some stores have, If you agree to my terms you will pay it or I will keep your stuff till you do.
BTW let me add: If they pay you give them the goods, we smugglers work on trust and to steal from a client is unacceptable in the eyes of the community.

"Full set of Composite Armor - Just sliced - (** stats here **) 100 credits / First come"
"Krayt Pistol - Just sliced - (** stats here **) 100 credits / First come"
They'll make a deal

i had a guy agree on the price, then afterwords, after i told him what i sliced it for, he DEMANDED that i give it to him freee cause he was a bounty hunter and would put a bounty on my head (**edit**?)
it wasent a bad slice either, like 27% damage i think....

Me: I charge 10k per item so these 2 rifles will cost you 20k REGARDLESS of the result. I dont negotiate my price and if you agree and cant pay i will keep the item and do with it as i see fit. Do you agree to my terms?

I like the idea of putting it on the bazaar or selling the item after its sliced if they can't pay. Of course, I'd never keep someone's stuff if they could pay, I was mainly wondering how others handled it when someone tried to hustle the hustler so to speak. It's only happened to me once so far and conscience wouldn't let me hold on to the item, so I negotiated a price. Seems like it is pretty acceptable and fair to keep it if they can't pay though.

Since I tell everyone the same macro for price range before I start on their item(s) it's simple. Thye refuse to pat I say in open you have 24 real life hours to pay for my slicing services if you have not payed withing 24 hours I sell your item(s). They pay quick enough after that while cussing me out though since all of this is done in open chat they are being laughed at and insulted a lot by others around me. Then they go on my ignore list and don't do business with them again.

Putting somones weapon on the bazaar is not a very good idea... Why not just wait and let them get the money?
