Thread: The CU SOOOOOOOO Kicks ass!....

How much exp you get for each of those pickets?
Looks like MS/MBH is the way to go for the Smuggler profession if you want to do much of any damage. Great day for diversity!
The CU has really made diversity possible. There are so many viable templates now it's scary.

I have to agree here. Me and two friends did a significant amount of the DWB and the Warren today. It was absolutely fun as hell.
A few things I must say: This game seems BALANCED now!
Of course, the devs haven't balanced out a few remaining adventure planets because the geo caves were way too hard, but WOW, this game rocks now!!!
A few words: balance, fun, and a good bit of strategy.
Excellent work devs, excellent ![]()
I do like the combat. I actually had a bit of fun fighting random things. I even got killed! FYI: Last Ditch is not so great. Sucked the ever loving life out of me and I was toast.
I still don't care for the animations though. Too much light show for me.
Balanced?
Tell that, with a straight face, to the entertainers. Their elite professions were gutted, they are screwed on health (like a Master Dancer wouldn't have as much health as a Doctor), and though they put as much time into their profession as any combat profession they aren't allowed to respec...while docs are.
That's some kind of balance...or did you just mean combat balance? Like the only thing TO this game is combat.
I fully acknowledge the NEED for certain aspects of the CU and I fully acknowledge that certain aspects are interesting. I just happen to think they threw the baby out with the bathwater releasing it in the condition it's in and with some of the huge compromises they made. For example; everyone that is combat worth now has the same health, action and mind are all identical and the number of HAM components are cut from 9 to 3. That and not being able to modify your characters HAM make it considerably less diverse.
And, while they MIGHT give Entertainers some content back to match the skill points spent they are most likely to do it on the same schedule as the Smuggler Revamp has been for us. Sorry, but the cost of this CU was just too high for my taste since I do more in this game than shoot at things and people.
Last Ditch is actually what it is supposed to be now...a last ditch. the lower your health when you execute it, the more damage it does. (my buddy told me this, havent had a chance to test it myself yet) and i agree with you on the animations, they dont fit a sci-fi game. I remain skeptical and a little optimistic

I was using last ditch all the time and I was wondering what the heck was hitting me for so much damage. I bugged it until after a while I noticed it only happened when I used LD. Then I went "doh!" /slap self. ![]()
I love my renegade pistol!

Every time I have visted any of the entertainer forums (pre CU) most of them were saying things like, "we are not buff bots" amd "What we enjoy is entertainment/socializing". That is my experience from live as well, entertainers (if not buff bots) are not that interested in buffing. Now when buffign is gone they start crying. They still have BF healing though. They will probably get some more stuff later on (dev who was working on entertainer stuff said that inspiration buffs is only the beginning). Hope for them it does not take as long as the smuggler revamp lol.
However I agree that they should be allowed to respec.
I dunno... for damage, M. smuggler / M. Commando / Pistol... somethingwas a terror on guild hunts last night. Have to agree with Hotdog: This rocks!
For the first time, I wasn't the one running for cover when the critters started charging. I was actually running from target to target, rooting them, and setting them on fire (plasma flamer) so that team mates could get distance and heal. It was a blast! The BH would kd, I'l root and snare, and the rifleman would finish them off. It worked like it was supposed to.
I think that 90% of the CU griefers now owe the devs a huge appology.
oh yeah, I'll now jump on the "particle effects blow chunks" band-wagon. Other than that, you couldn't pay me to go back to the old system.

I took MS/MBH/Commando 0400 Just like I said I would AND IT ROCKS!!!
I did a mission with level 79 Picketts- WITHOUT A BUFF and it was actually fun.
I USED CROWD CONTROL and tactics!
Using my FWG (which now TOTALLY kicks ass AND I got the speed down to a 1- I think that's a cap- the dps was CRAZY like 585 or something- I gotta look again) I ran past the lair with all the picketts on my tail. When they got near the lair I rooted them all and used the LBC (AOE weapon) and wiped them out. Two heavy hits later and the lair 'sploded.
Then I dueled a TKM/MSwords (I think he hadmedic too because his health keep growing) and took him out. For a second it was close but I rooted him, KD'd him and bled him. He couldn't move. Melee could be in trouble.
Gotta be one of the best SWG nights EVER!
now if I could just fix my friggen sig!

I've got my combat log open and i'm trying to watch that
I've to my other eye on icons in the corner so I know when i can trigger something else
maybe i need to kill something higer level
or find some new commando weps or something
but what i've been doing these past two days is just dull and totally unexciting.
