Thread: May 5th expansion release date

I was expecting CURB testing to begin by May, with it hitting the game by July/August. Bug fixes for a couple months after that, with the non-profession revamp getting underway at the same time and entering testing in, I dunno, October/November, thinking optimistically. These were all pretty much guesses, but the CURB has been taking FOREVER (and now we know part the reason why), and what with it being so big I didn't expect it any time soon. I also didn't expect them to have any work done on our revamp prior to the CURB's release, so.

Anyway, that's not to say we'll be seeing our revamp any faster even if everything else is coming sooner than I thought, but for me at least, it's a big potential improvement.

Many of the attitudes expressed here are exactly why SOE doesn't need to even bother with a Smuggler Revamp.


Few if any will quit over not being revamped.


Few if any will boycott the expansion over not being revamped.


From a purely economic point of view if I were Sony I'd probably shove us to the bottom of the list over and over seeing as how I wouldn't be losing any business over it.


I will not buy the expansion until I hear definite answers about our revamp. Hell, I may not even be in SWG by the time the expansion is out. I'm pretty much fed up.

We're in the time period of the Original Trilogy, right? About 20 years AFTER Episode 3. Why the Hell is this call "Star Wars Episode III: Rage of the Wookiees"? Why are we playing stuff from 20 years ago? I mean what the crap!? That right there proves everyone's point that this is completely bullcrap.


LOOK AT THIS JUNK:

What the crap? I don't a slew of content taken from Episode 3. I want a slew of content from the time period we're playing in. What the crap. Let's just bring Jango and Mace and Qui'Gon back to life and stick them around the Galaxy, huh?

It is marketing used to drive membership, like it or not right or wrong. It is what it is......

I had no idea this was coming but Im not suprised and Im shocked you guys are. We all know SOE is all about the $$ regardless of story time lines. To eveyone other there, please dont think Im shruging off our revamp because im not I want us worked on as much as anyone and if you read any of my FD posts you know I went to war over it. This expansion had to be in the works for a long, long time. We were not pushed back because of it, we were just not moved up and yes it sucks but it is what it is. SOE wants membership not smuggler fixed. Sadly they will fix us when they get to it and all the anger or boycots will simply not change that.

I would like to clarify that I'm not outraged by us supposedly getting pushed back because of this. I'm mad because of the content of the expansion. It sounds like they're adding an Episode III style expansion instead of expanding the GCW era that we are in.


I want content fom the here and now, not 20 years past.

Man... I think I will take a littlejaunt over to the Ranch and talk toGeorge about this. His HQ is about 10 minutes from my house in Lucas Valley (no, not named after him nor his family -- old ranching family here in Marin).


Anyone want to come with?


Of course, merchandising is KING. Money talks and you-know-what walks... with the dumbed-down graphics (ugly and now obviously tiled terrain and water) and the new Pacman movement, plus the fact that the Combatuprevampgrade sounds like it will be twitch-based... I may be the you-know-what that walks...
