Thread: Four Percent...
I'm fairly new to Smuggler , well i tried it back in O3 for a bit.
I am a master smuggler and regardless of what the message it gives you is, 6% is pretty much a great slice so 4 isn't bad
pre CU smuggler here as well...5% on my proton carbine...guess i should be happy
i believe what you would be told is that everything is "working as intended"
from what i've heard... the better the wepon the lower the slice. i've actually gotten a 0% slice. from what i understand, it was actually a .05% because it did actually move the stats up just a little bit.
so it goes...
every weapon and armor has a hard cap. the better the weapon (ie the closer it is to the cap) the lower the slice % will be.
So if you have a pistol with damage 300 and the cap for that type is 400 your slice cannot excede 400 (ie 33%)
if the same pistol starts at dam 350 the max slice would be 14%
as I understand it these caps cannot be exceded by slices, hi-Q resources, krayt tissues or anything else.
the only weapons that will ever excede the cap are the uber-guns from before the CURB. some were allowed to convert to numbers higher than the hard caps.
hope this helps
oh and a word of warning.....though its never happened to me (yet.....:smileyhappy![]()
dont try slicing uber pre-CU guns. If they already excede the caps you will get NEGATIVE slices, bringing them DOWN to the capped #s

I've sliced oodles and oodles of things, and that's just not an acceptable roll.I put in a /bug, and specifically asked that the guy's carbine be reset, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Is there any chance we can get a clarification of what's going on with slicing these days? Thanks, mal
I take it that was your first slice since the CU went live?
This is nothing new, slicing has been borked since the CU came out.
I specifically refuse to slice for people if they have quest items unless specifically they know they can get a copy of the item or they just dont care.
You should have had more business and known slicing was messed up prior to slicing his carbine... something leads me to believe something about your story to be a lil fishy. Unless you totally have not sliced a thing in the past 3 weeks.
Be lucky you got a % you did. Slicing is not something meant for everyone, not every freakin weapon out there should be sliced. People need to learn this.

OMG I'm NOT the only person thatbelieves this.....Amen brother....
I think alot of us feel this way but people are use to having the best of the best.
I have probably turned down about 20 people whove asked for slicing in the past week and had to explain to them all they wouldn't like the results if they did get said item sliced.
