So I feel kind of bad that my venom's been aimed at the hapless fools at SOE. Oh well, sincerest apologies, SOE. You guys only suck at Community Relations and QA testing

At least they're saying it out loud finally... but we've known that for a long time.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

What is funny is that I was just in the process replying to that thread before it was lockedby saying that the poor condition of the game is due to Lucas Arts people being in control of the direction of the game because they have ZERO experience with MMO's. The second statement I included said that the direction that this game is has taken doesn't really address the NEEDS of the game.

I feel very confident that SOE is doing their job, and that a few producers have a taste for irresponsible micromanagement.

I can see why most of the important devs like GreenMarine and Tyrant left this game.

Well SOE is responsible for the bugs... But everything else is all LA!

I don't even blame the bugs on them. The producersforced the release of the game and they have been shoving item after item after item of Jedi/Episode III related content down our throats. The devs didn't have time to fix the bugs making all of that new bullcrap.

True. They have been pushed to unreasonable timelines a couple times... It all started with launch really.

I think the fact that SOE are now openly releasing statements like this is pretty telling, especially in the light of moreresponsibility being thrown on the shoulders of the mysterious Producers over the last few months.

Cracks appearing?

Hmm

Anyway, my apology to SOE was not total, as you're dead right Zane. The bugs are still SOE's, as are the horrible, horrible Community Relations

Yeah? Well, Lucas Arts doesn't write the buggy code - so SOE's not out from under the gun as far as I'm concerned.

Bugs I can deal with. It may take weeks or months, but they'll fit bugs eventually. There is, however, nothing that can be done about the hundreds or thousands of j3di. That was a LA decision and it is the one that finally drove me out.

Screw LA and their j3di fetish. Sad that the fans understand Star Wars better than Lucas Arts does.

I agree with you, except for the "eventually" part. Some of the bugs we still encounter were present from the beginning, and it's reasonable to say that if they haven't been fized yet, they never will be.

As Smugglers, we've not been too badly affected by bugs, compared to some.

The crimes against our class have been in development (ie the very substance of the profession) and in customer relations, so certainly my beef is much more targetted on these failings in the game.

[takes up arms]

I think it's time for all those SWG players that are sick and tired of this game becoming increasingly screwed up to head on over to LA's forums and start spamming them with posts of protest.
