Hi guys

I've been a master smuggler for a while now and I am looking for the perfect template with regards to PvP whilst still retaining Master Smuggler.

I've gone Master Pistoleer before but if you find yourself up against a melee profesion you nearly always lose.

Without an uber geo I've found that it is pretty much useless in PvP although is pretty nice in PvE.

Any suggestions on the best Smuggler PvP template aprreciated

Go master pistoleer to maximize your smuggler abilities and then pick up TKM for defenses all around. You will find this to be one of the best PvP and PvE combos out there.

I don't think of myself as the uber-PvP Character (obviously I'm Smuggler )

But I nearly finished my template and it's fun and deals damage like hell, it's quite simple

Master Marksman

4-0-0-0 Brawler (TK Novice)

4-0-0-0 Scout (Explorer)

Master Smuggler

0-0-4-0 Bounty Hunter (Desperado)

0-0-2-0 Pistoleer /for the geo, it rocks in PvP, believe me

There are still some points left, I put them into Medic.

I am able to spam Last ditch at speed cap with my Scatter (1550 Dps) and I have Ranged Knockdown (Low blow).

It's great in PvE, in PvP I am a good supporter, but can't take much damage (no +dodge, few +defense, etc)

Nevertheless I like it and the title Desperado somehow fits in my Roleplaying as well

It's not IF I can do it, it's HOW MUCH you're willing to pay.

I'm sure that there are other viable templates, but the template I'm going for is the triple-master. Master smuggler/master pistoleer/master TKA. With the TKA, you'll obviously have some pretty good melee ability, and the smuggler/pistoleer combo gives you good ranged ability. You'll still need a good geo blaster, but that's just the way it is right now. Hopefully this will be fixed in the combat revamp.

You don't have any medic skills with that template, so I suppose you could drop some of your pistoleer skills to get novice medic. You're still not going to win every PvP encounter you have, but you'll hold your own. Right now in PvP it's all about who has the best armor, has eaten the best food, and if you are using Dots. Again, hopefully this will change in the combat revamp.

Its true you don't have the 'official'medical skills, but the meditate tree of TKA allows you to cure poisons and diseases and heal your wounds; sounds like medical skills to me.

The Smuggler / Pistoleer / TKA combination is known as Combat Smuggler, Triple Master and Triple Threat. Probably more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Agreed, you can heal with meditate, but while you are in combat it's just not as quick as being able to use a stim-pack C or something. More often than not, if you are waiting on your meditate to kick in for healing, you'll be long dead before that happens. Personally, I think healing is overrated anyway. I just threw that out there in case it was a concern for the original poster. My philosophy is to heal myself over the corpse of the guy I just DBd...

If you're willing to sacrifice all the medic skills,
Master Smuggler, 0-0-4-0 Bounty Hunter and 0-0-4-3 Pistoleer is a viable option. I'm currently working towards this myself. You are however a sitting duck defencewise, but there is food outhere thats can atleast provide you with a minimum of dodge capabilities.
I'm not quite there yet, but I'll atleast give it a try in PvP

While people might not consider this the 'best' template, I chose to do Master Smuggler, Master Pikeman, Master Brawler, Novice Medic and Marksman 0-0-0-1. I just like the way the special pike attacks look, always spinning and twirling the pike around, IMO they have the best looking attacks. I didn't do the Pistoleer/TKM thing cause I could do more damage than a Pistoleer with a Pike, even though as a smuggler you get pistol attacks, you can switch to a pistol to get a low blow or last ditch off anyways. I originally went for master brawler just to have the extra +5 pike speed, but polearm lunge 2 is really useful, it has a range of like 15m and KD's, and while they're down you can dizzy em with a pike attack. Really good for when people start running away in pvp. Marksman 0-0-0-1 was just for the +2 range defense and novice medic was just so I could heal my own wounds/damage effectively.

But ya know, you won't have fun unless you do what you want to do, build your character as you see fit and no matter what the template is you'll have fun.

I'm doing

Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer/Fencer. I believeI'm one point short to master Fencer so i'm probably going to take the tree with the dodge bonuses. This will give me the Max Dodge bonus while i have enough firepower to hold my own with a geo blaster.

I have not yet voluntarily PvP'ed but I'm hoping this will work.

he is definitely right...

This is one of the best templates for PvE, tkas can tank anything, plus you have the choice from a bunch of different types of damage weapons to choose from.

Only problem in PvP is that most everyone you fight will have at least 80% kinetic resist... that makes tka kinda a pain... luckily you can target mind though, and with the amazingly highamount of damage, and speed, that you'll get with tka, it really doesnt matter .

TKA is also VERY FUN to level through, and fight with... some of the coolest attack animations

I did the triple master just to check it out for PvP. I like it, because you get awesome defenses and can hold your own in PvP. You aren't invincible, but you are a tank for other classes.I don't PvP much now because of the Jedi crap, but you are a tough **edit** who can Feign Death when it's getting desperate.

As for the ultimate smugglers template???? Do what you want bud, experiment, but most of all have fun. If you aren't having fun, move on. That's all I can say.

I would say too, that Smuggler is not a fighting class (we just need 2 Mil. Pistol XP without any improvement).

But I love to RP as a Smuggler.

btw, I wrote something about Master Smuggler, Desperado Combo.

It's really nice, but my Last Ditch Spam killed me last night, it cost 72 action points PER SECOND. MAn, I hit bottom in no time
