Thread: Any triple masters going for FS?
Took some real hard thinking and some tough decisions, though. What I've decided is to initially drop Pistoleer skills (though I see my Smuggler as more a pistol-using type than a brawler type) to get the FS skills needed to open the second slot (this has pros and cons, depending on what you want), and then most likely dropping them to get my Triple Mastery back.
Now let's face it. It's much easier and quicker to get XP as a TKM than as a Master Pistoleer. So the XP grind will be done quicker as a TKM. Of course, this means it will take longer to get Master Pistoleer back once I'm done with FS. Since I want to get through the horrible XP grind as quickly as possible and I'm not so worried about getting the mastery back as quickly, this is the route I'm planning to take.
If you want it to be easier getting the Triple Mastery back and don't care how long it takes to finish the FS XP grind, you can drop TK skills and keep the Pistoleer ones.
My FS skill plan depends on the "fairness" of the partial profession grind credit that is given. If I get an unlock (which I feel I should) I will get the Persuasion line, and the rest will be Melee Defense, Ranged Defense, Ranged Accuracy, Ranged Speed, Vehicular Control. If I do not, no Persuasion for me, as the Slicing XP ratio is horrible and I don't have the needed profession to even do the quest to unlock it unless they change that. In that case, I'll get Melee Speed.
There is a slight chance if I get the Persuasion line, I may keep the FS skills, grind Pistoleer back up and give up TKA skills to get them. That's to be decided upon later.
As for the second character, I'm back through it all again to make a Jedi, as I refuse to ruin RP by making my Smuggler into a Jedi when he's supposed to be a Smuggler, and I always had a plan for a second character Jedi, since that's what they originally said it would be.
Anyway, that's my plan.
I'm doing it for the second character. I'll probably drop some pistol for now but I think once the 2nd slot opens I will be back to triple master. Anyone using the 2nd slot for a BH? I am because I would rather kill a jedi then play a jedi.

I'm not sure I understand.. Why would you need to give up skills? All I plan on doing is getting the old man to visit, then going to the village and picking up the ranged speed line when its available. Are you guys talking about going full blown jedi? Does the extra slot not unlock till you fill up all 24 boxes?

Don't take this as Gosple, but from what I've heard, you can't surrender the FS skills once you get them. I'm not going to open the second slot, untill I know for certain that I don't need to holdonto those damned skills, I don't want a second character that badly.
However, Since the specials inGunfighter are broken, and we don't get speed cap at Master, I may just lose it, andRanged Support 1 for the four skill points it'd take to get all of Persuasion, after all, Apprenticeship is easy to get.
That is correct. Once you learn those FS skills, you can't drop them.
And each FS skill box will take 1 skill point. So in order to become an Initiate to get to Padawan and unlock that second character slot, you're going to need 24 extra skill points.
As for the person above who said he was going to drop some marksman, yet keep Smuggler and Pistoleer.... You know you can't drop the pistol tree in Marksman and still keepSmuggler and PIstoleer, right?
Unless I totally read your message wrong. If so, please correct me.

Sorry... could you clarify that a little? You mean you can't drop them at all (meaning they lack the surrender option of normal skills) or you can't drop them until after you're done with your 24 / trials / whatever else?
I made a TC2 toon to try all this out, but Jamilla never let me in the village, so I never had the chance to earn any skills.
