Thread: HELP! Smuggler correspondent: exploit or its really supose to work that way?

Hi ,


Ive been msmugler for a while and when i used feign death , it only got breaked when i was healed (pvp) by my same faction.

But seens that other ways breaks it, i got it breaked 3 times in a row and only first one i was choking(dots)

We haven't really gotten an answer on this Jac.


I suspect that if we ever find out the real reason for the CU, it will all make sense.

Hey again, thx for replys.

So u all confirmed u had the same problems with feign death? because sometime ago it only breaked with healing from others, but now looks like it brakes with Dots and whatever it is, as they keep breking it even without dots, so i need to know if its an exploit to report it or its intended to work that way.

I'm sorry, but I just cannot imagine going back to pre-cu. Sure there are problems, now, but there were problems then. Dont you rembmer how combat was? It was all macroed. I never had to think, never had a chance to use my suprior intelect. Who had the fastest and best gun won.

and spewing that you just proved your "suprior intelect" is non-existant....


pre-curb combat was much harder to master than the current slow-motion healing-centric combat, the really dumbed down the combat....and you seem to be part of the target audience for the dumbening

No need to get hostile.


The only real problems I have with the CU are the stupid effects that are really useless, like the blinking light over someones eyes when they're blind - just looking at the icons under their name is plenty of effect for me. That and my bigger complaint that they went off and changed so many of the blaster bolt colors, saying "Red is Energy" and "Kinetic is this ugly dirty white color".


I'd hardly say combat pre-CU was harder when all you needed was a set of Composite armor and Doctor buffs, then go toe to toe with a Krayt Dragon all day long and not break a sweat. Although there are some issues post CU, overall it's a lot better than the issues we had before the CU in my opinion.


P.S. Intellect has two L's (just kidding, I mean, it does, but I just found that somewhat amusing)

I don't want to go back to pre-CU.

I want the REAL CU. The one they showed us but Lucasarts made them scrap because it was "too complicated."

Give me complicated anyday. 3 bars, weapon settings, and all sorts of other things that they scrapped to make a CoH clone combat system. Only not as interesting.

I dunno, talking about the past I seem to remember answering this question already.

But here we go.

Things that can break feign:

Healing
Touching any movement key/mouse button
A slight breeze
Attempting to use certain specials
The vernal equinox
Shouting very loudly
Space aliens
Feigning death
Trying to Feign death while already feigned
Dying
Jedi farting
The fickle whim of the Devs

And that's just the short list. Fact of the matter is, the Devs won't say whether something is a bug or intended until they absolutely have to. Just assume it's working as intended, Wes has known about this for months, he's asked for answers. If he gets them it will be included in the stickies.

I know, check your post you wrote it wrong....And I also though that was funny so I intentionally copied your wrong spelling...I'm not a spelling nazi but someone talking about "suprior intelect" cracks me up.


and I have bigger issues with the Curb:


-it was made on the level of a 10 year old

-healing got even MORE important than pre-curb

-new crafting system SUCKS VERY VERY MUCH*

-SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

-food is bugged and/or not usefull

-once they fix jedi drops/tunes jedi are going to be insanely overpowered AGAIN


oh and please don't twist things....pre-curb4 profs could "really" solo krayts rifleman, commando's, MSW and jedi.....now just about every combat prof (except commando maybe) can solo em..... and they even go down faster than pre-curb

you could stand and shoot it for god knows how long as a pistoleer or whatever....but only those 3 could do it in decent time all other classes would prolly need a new suit of comp after every 2nd krayt


* on the crafting: there were 2 issues identified, which is why devs put in crafting caps

-armour got too good due to devs underestimating the players (ergo 90% base comp)

- SOME weapons were overpowered (and ALL of these op's weapons were LOOT DROPS).


the results is the devs changing crafting for the worse.....you have more choice in armour LOOKS but the crafting of armour has been simplified most armoursmiths I know stopped out of plain boredom

weapons got rediculous and unneeded caps forced on to them, effectively KILLING loads of possibilities you had pre-curb.


there's only one way to make a decentweapon now, cap sac, then go speed/damage BOOOORING


CRAFTED weapons NEVER were an issue...I know as I had some of the best weapon in this game made....and they didn't hold a candle to the looted nonsense......


and can anyone PLEASE explain to me why the devs put stupid caps on weapons and at the same time give an enourmous boost to loot enhancements (BH target drops, casings and cells).....probably resulting in the first double-capped weapon being crafted the first day after this stupid change..


ah one more: why did just about every single non jedi weapon converted to crap while jedi sabers got converted into uber post-curb weapons?

Who said anything about going back to pre CU?


I said there was a reason for the CU, and this reason had nothing to do with balance.


Smuggler would be better balanced as a combat profession if FD worked like it used to.


People still dabble professions to stack defenses, which the CU was supposed to end...I think the CU was implemented to make the game easier and cheaper to program and maintain. If you notice they're streamlining all the crafting more and more every patch...soon we'll be able to hit one button and get the message "YOU MADE A FULL SUIT OF MANDO ARMOR" There are still just as many bugs and imbalances as there were pre-CU. Bla bla...don't take my word for it, play the game and see.

Now though, just tonight I was dueling a master brawer, master TKA, master 2 handed pike 3440 and I'm a master smuggler, master SL, pistols 0004. I was grouped so I could use volley fire. Guess what, I beat him. No foods, no heals no armor (but he has innate). How you say? Because I'm a smart guy. I would root and kneel, volly fire and trade off bodyshot and reckless. Then as he was getting near the end of his root, I would hit him with (the one that allows stat effects to stick more often, dont remmber the name) and snare, then go for concussion. If I missed with cuncussion I'd go for panic, while kiting of course. Btween the two I would usually hit. THen I woudl wait for my root to ocme back. Sometimes it worked better then others (like when you miss your root sucks) but you know, I beat him with basically one proffesion, and he had more like 3 and a half. You couldn't do ANYTHING like that pre-cu.
