Thread: I love the changes that happend to smuggler....

So... you like being a Smuggler that can't smuggle, has a new slicing system that's half broken, and gets completely ignored by the Devs?
Glad you're having fun, bro.
Well we're not COMPLETLY ignored, I mean we got our daze's fixed. But being able to smuggle would be fun. But how is the new slicing system half broken?

Hmm, let's see. Critical slices don't work at all, damage slices aren't being applied correctly, we can't really tell if all of the armor slices are working correctly because not many people can afford or find enough components to slice a full set....
... am I missing anything?
You cant slice a bio-linked weapon, and this new system is nothing compared to the system they had in-concept (which has conviently disappeared).
I can understand the reaction, mind you: lots of stuff to grumbles about in the state of our beloved profession. But glad you are having fun, it is what matter after all!
Edit: A few posts were posted while I was typing this. Yeah, the HUGE difference between the system we got and the one we saw In Concept worry me too. It make me fear to suddenly see on TC a dumbed down unsatisfying version of the In Concept thread on Smuggling.

If I had just started playing SWG and/or a Smuggler I think I too would be just fine with the game. However I've been a Master Smuggler for over two years and in that time we have been lied to and ignored far too much for me to continue.
IF I were new to this I would probably think I could easily wait a few months for the devs to give me a great smuggling system and fix all the issues with slicing (OH, and you forgot that slicing components don't STACK in your list of problems).
However I'm not new and know, from SOEs track-record, that the chances of getting an engaging smuggling system is probably NEVER going to happen.
InnocenseIS bliss. I really wish I could return to that state. Sony you stole my innocense!
I think you mean "Ignorance is bliss."
In this case, the ignorant producers of this game who milk the remaining cash from this game that they have killed are the only happy ones here. Well, they WOULD be MORE happy if they had let the developers fix the things that needed fixing, by giving the devs more time to make a quality product before launch, by standing by the devs commitment to keep Jedi rare, and by stop micromanaging the dev team by slowing the development process by requiring the devs to submit fixes to a lengthy approval process.
I have come to the realization that the dream that SOE and I shared, fostered, and developed from 2001 about this game is NOT shared, respected, or given the needed investigation to fix by the 'Producers' of this game.
The 'Producers'took our dream and shat over it, taking the twenty dollar bill from it before the poop landed. They may have ultimate knowledge of the Star Wars universe, but they seem to have little idea about MMORPG's, specifically their design or how to fix them. Keep shoving these bad decisions down our throats. I'm sure the only people left playing this game after a year will be those players who don't know/care that there will be 10,000 more times Jedi on the battlefield than in ANY of the Star Wars movies.
Keep making these "changes", 'Producers', without really investigating the root of the problems in this game. It doesn't take much work.... just LOOK at the Top 5 issues from each profession. That would take 15 minutes.

yeah, I wrote that originally but thought it was too harsh.
The decline of SWG started, for me, back when the game went into beta without the player generated missions that were so loudly touted in alpha. I didn't know it then but that was just the beginning of the sell-out by SOE.
The desire to love this game is great, but if you bought a car from SOE and it couldn't turn left or right would you still try to enjoy it? Of course a patch would be coming out shortly to allow the car to turn left (to go right simply turn left three times).

Innocence is bliss, too, SpinningCloud. Both statements are true. I know how you feel regarding your innocence being taken away.
And to all of you who are leaving; I understand, but I am still so sad that so many are leaving.
I was cranky earlier; I am now headed towards melancholy.
