Im a Master Smuggler, working on mastering pistoleer. Im not too into the whole melee combat scene, so the Triple Master is not something I'm interested thing. What can I add to this template to make me viable in PvE, specifically so that I can compete in getting the valuable loots. PvP is not really something I plan to participate in alot, but Id like to be able to survive.

Three boxes of commando!

I know that I'm getting a tree of CH, for RP purposes.

I don't mean to be hard, but pistoleer is a poor choice for both PvE and PvP.... again.. not being hard.

Getting loot rights with a pistol is damn near impossible. Pistoleer lacks armor piercing, good DoT's, and has poor damage.

I shared your loathing of melee at one point...

Then, I picked up TKM. Now, I couldn't tell you the last time I picked up a pistol to kill something. I still retain Master Pistoleer, and am waiting to see what the CU will do for me. But, the damage I do unarmed (even without VKs) is great. And, with some of the stuff you go through to get a medic to notice you through the tumblers in a med center, meditation is invaluable.

If nothing else, at least give it a shot...you can always re-template for something else if you still don't like it.

The idea of picking up 3 boxes in commando would be cool I guess.

I'd recommend picking up some scout and medic to accomodate pve.

If your not into melee I say get some ch. Unless your a kungfu guy expect that some content is just not going to be available to you like nightsisters and krayt dragons, but in my book nobody should bo soloing either of those anyway.

Just had to chime in, as I can relate. The first time I tried TK it was fun, but wasn't something I was real interested in at the time and so I didn't pursue it very far. After I went to Smuggler I decided to pick it up again, and have never dropped it since.

Take a look at our forums for any further debate (I don't want to hijack this thread), but TKM alone cannot solo Krayt effectively, and NS Elders cannot be solo'd with TK alone (100% kinetic resists). Melee in general is very powerful, and that does need to be adjusted, but I try to make sure it is known that TK alone is not the "godsend" of professions that so many try to make it out to be. Everyone has 250 skillpoints, and everyone invests them in the way they see fit. The people soloing Krayts and Nightsisters are not 92 skillpoint characters (TKM only)

unless u just just absolutely hate melee, u really should at least try TK. it was the first proff i ever mastered (aside from scout) and i have not dropped it since, been playing almost a year now. It does great damage, and is much better in PvE and is a viable proff for PvP. pistols is..well, pistols is kinda broken. I used to be a triple master, then dropped pistoleer because I never used it. TK is more powerful IMHO so I didn't see a need for pistoleer. tho after the CURB hits, i will prolly go triple master again

I agree with Ryutek, TKA isn't the end-all be-all.

As a matter of factoid, I think that swordsman or rifleman would be much more useful in PvE than most any other profession.
