-2 points for every question mark after the first.

There is no "Smuggler Ship". Ships that are used by Smugglers are just transports/frieghters that have been used/modified to Smuggle.

Which, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't possible (smuggling, that is). So, what exactly are you modifying?

That's another point for another conversation. I'm simply trying to point out that there is no predefined "Smuggler" ship. Its not like, there's a company out there that goes: "You know, lets make a line of ships for Smugglers.". That's like a car company going: "You know, lets make a line of cars for crack dealers.".

Ok......guys I get it.....no one smuggler ship. Then i guess my question is what type of ship is like the one Han Solo flew is the movie....I seen one flying around in game......and Oh man do I want one....so my question is. What is the name of those types of ships, and are there any benefits to have one?.............ps I could have sworn I read somewhere that BH and smugglers were getting profession based ship ships

Ya know...

I don't have JtL yet...but I'm sure there's a little thing called a manual that came in the box with the game. READ IT! And if it's not in there, there is an official JtL site (handily linked from the SWG main site) that contains all of this information.

It's called a YT-1300 and it is the multipassenger, master pilotlevel Privateer ship.

YT-1300(Millenium Falcon)is the the ship that Han Solo flew in the movies. He won this ship in a card game from Lando. The benfits to having on is it is a multiplayer ship meaning you can transport people anditems (75)in it. The disadvantages at the moment are you need other people to operate the weapons as there are no pilot forward firing weapons and it also takes up a lot out of your 10 lots.

There is no Smuggler content inherant to this ship, as there is no Smuggler content inherant in JTL. There are smuggling missions in JTL, but they are open to anyone, not just Smugglers.

The certification for thisship requires Neutral Pilot Mastery to fly. If you are factioned you are out of luck. There are no smuggler or bounty hunter specific ships. Similarily the Firespray (Slave 1) is open for use by anyone with any pilot mastery, regardless of faction.

Great post. Lot of good information that is around, but you put it in one place. Nice job. Too bad that we missed another opportunity to give Smugglers something to do that is smuggling, but what the...

Wait a second. Are you f'ing kidding me? There are certifications for the ships??? Come ON man! You've GOT to be joking. Yet another design bungle by SOE inmy opinion. I thought, at one point, there was a movement to do away with certifications and simply have different equipment perform different jobs. Now I see that SOE is FIRMLY committed towards people grinding and will NEVER let go of that concept.

Anyway, this is ridiculous on so many levels. Once you obtain enough skill points or experience to fly a ship, you should be able to fly pretty much any ship, but your skills AT flying those ships would improve (IE: better sensor range or whatever).

And what's this crap about having to be neutral to fly certain ships?? What, you can't fly a YT-1300 if you're Imperial or Rebel? Did anyone forget that Han Solo eventually BECAME A REBEL and continued to fly the Falcon?? Good god these guys can't design their way out of a wet paper bag and they CERTAINLY don't know squat about Star Wars. Boy I'm sure glad I didn't waste any money on JtL...

Anyway, Solo's ship was a heavily modified YT-1300. Stock YT-1300s come with less armor and weaker shields, as well as only one gun turret (the dorsal one), slower engines (both sublight and hyperspace), no concussion missile launchers, and no hidden blaster like the one we see when Solo escapes from Hoth. The Falcon had an additional gun turret added (the ventral one), tougher armor and shields, better sensors, jamming equipment, smuggling containers (resistant to scans), etc.

And for the record, those of you who'd like to fly a regular YT-1300 or the Falcon, I recommend you pick up X-Wing Alliance where you can fly ANY ship you want without having some dumbass certification.
