Why?

  1. In PvP, Feign Death was only a viable tactic when you were forced Overt, or in a large battle(to take the focus off of yourself).

  2. This will stop Jedi from using it to cheat thier way to success.

  3. This will stop Bounty Hunters from using it to cheat into a never ending mission.

  4. This will stop anyone from using it just to keep from losing thier precious PvP rating.

  5. This will stop DoT feigners.

  6. This will not keep players from feigning against MOBs in PvE.

  7. This will stop griefers from initiating combat and keeping people from leaving.

It actually does solve a lot of problems, and you guys know I'm not one to support the devs unswayingly. Hell, I even used to have "Event: ...will beat Haden Blackman's ass if they ever meet." in my signature, untill it was edited out by an admin.

I agree on all the points...and I for one never used it in PvP due to the black barring, I mainly used it when I got into too much trouble in PvE. What I think got most people wound up, including me, was how this change came about. The fact that this change did not come from requests from smugglers....it came because of 1 class abusing a smuggler skill, and another class complaining about it (and rightfully so, I must add.)

Like I said I do agree on your 7 points and see the positives in this. It is just how the change came about.

lmao .. I died twice last night screwing around with Krayt... i never FD... i forget i have it half the time. I am not upset about the change... many others are not either. BUT....
I am LIVID about they way it was done. This was not even a Smuggler issue! We still have so many things broken that if they can address the FD whining for the Jedi/BH, Why cant i autopull from a crate. Why? bc SOE has shown time and again that Smuggler will be the LAST profession to ever get touched. People say wait for the CURB? From experience.. I can say.... when the CURB hits.... there will another more important issue that will push our revamp back. Am i being negative? i think not.... I tihnk im drawing conclusions based on past FACTS of how the Devs have treated us like the red headed step child of this game. just look at the History of the Smuggler thread. Honestly, I cant see how anyone can stand up for the Devs after they have Backstabbed us so many times. I wont be helping them Twist the knife. I'm gonna Drop Smuggler ... pick up BH .. and WASTE every NOOB Jedi that is stupid enough to get on the terms. I will have Vengance for contributing to the demise of the Profession i wanted to Love above all others.

Good points, Nicolas.

And once the uproar die down, that should reduce somewhat the strife between BH and Jedi (and both of thoses professions and Smugglers) over the use of one of our skill.

We just need to do some venting, then refocusing our attention on actually FIXING (not nerf-fixing) our professionand implementing "$"muggling into smuggler, for a change.

this whole issue of bh's and jedi could have been fixed if they would have put fd at master smuggler. no bh or jedi would be willing to spend 125 skillpoints on mastering smuggler, to gain 1 skill.

I am none to happy with the change

Mmm about that large battle..... now that they made us killable when feigned in PvP, would be nice if we really show as incapped when FDed. Why?

We all agree that on a one on one fight, feigning in PvP now mean instant death. Ennemy see you go down, incap you, db. Bye bye.

But imagine that scenario.... A big battlefield, an Imperial guy is fighting 3 Rebels, among them a Smuggler with his title off. He see one drop down apparently incapped, quickly switch target to dispatch as quickly as possible another of the two remeaning ennemies, to minimise his damage taking, maybe thinking he will have time to go back to the first and db before the incap timer is over. When the Imp is distracted, Smuggler heal up, jump back on his feet and join the fray again.

So ok, most of the time what will happen is that the Imp of my example will take the extra seconds to make sure the guy is really incapped and then DB him. But without the Smuggler title up and in a big battlefield, once in a while that ruse could work. As a last ditch effort. The trick being, we are killable when Feigned, but the person must think about killing us. And in a big fight sometimes peoples can forget stuff.

Now, I have tested FD in PvE on TC Gorath, but not in PvP, so if you get automatically incapped when FDing instead of being "incappable" what I said is wrong. But you got to admit, that would be a way of doing that would allow some very small possible use of the skill in PvP while not being overly powerful.

No offence, but a lot of the big time PvPers just run a looping/deathblow macro. If they don't see the "You have slain JimBob" message on thier screen, then they know you're just faking.
