It is strang that SWG hasen't added duel weild to any profs.....i hope the devs think of that some day. almost every game like this has a class that can duel weild..=/

It's actually not odd that they have yet to add duel weild. From a Dev standpoint it would be a nightmare IMO. First off there is goig to be a balance issue. If you give say..pistoleers and fencers duel weild, is that going to make them highly overpowerd? FOr that matter what profession do you decide to give duel weild to? I can assure you that the professions that don't get it will start a bug hue and cry. It's a more complicated issue than I think alot realise. It's a cool idea that I would one day like to see implemented but I think we need to focus on getting the core looking good and then we can work on window dressing.

I think Pistoleers should have duel weild. Smugglers are trying to break away from the pistol requirements... :/

They could make duel-weilding just for looks. When you equip a weapon, you could set it so you hold one or two of the weapons. If you have two equiped, then the other weapon would just be a duplicate of the other. They'd both do the same damage as if you had one weapon, and would only be for looks. Like the laser cannons on the X-Wing and TIE Interceptor. One weapon looks like two.

If dual wielding pistols were implemented I think that it would be more suited to Pistoleer. Bounty Hunters have mentioned the same thing for themselves, but from what I see Pistoleers are *the* pistol profession, if anyone were to be able to dual wield pistols it should bethem.

Exactly. I would gladly give up max range for the ability to dual wield up close to about 30-40 meters or so.

I never liked the concept of duel-wielding anything, especially pistols. I was watching some gun show on the History Channel and some expert said that it takes a master marksman to be accurate even holding a pistol with 2 hands. Granted, they were talking real life situation and I'm well aware this is a game. But in-game, there would obviously be an advantage to using 2 guns at once, but there would have to be an equal disadvantage. That doesn't sound like something I'd want, especially since pistols aren't that great as of now anyways(after the CU, who knows?).

Yeah, I see that being up at Master Pistoleer, or at least having Tier 4 of three of the four branches in Pistoleer.

Yeah, the drawback would need to be decreased Accuracy and Range, respectively, while the benefits are increased speed and damage. Then limit dual wielding to pistols small enough to be wielded effectively in a single hand and only two of the same type. This means a pistol like the DE-10 couldn't be dual(to big and heavy to get any accuracy firing two at once), and you can't use two different weapons to deal two different damage types(meaning you can't use a Republic Blaster and a DX2 simultaniously, but you could use two Republic Blasters or two DX2s simultaniously).
As fencers dual wielding, same rules should apply.
As for other weapon types dual wielding, all the other weapons truely are to big and bulky to effectively wield in combat. There is no way someone can seriously run about with two polearms or two sniper rifles and do a good job. More like they'd be laughed at before having thier heads blown/lopped off.
