Thread: Slicing Prices are crazy...will they ever settle down???

I miss the days of 10k per slice....8k per slice if it's 6 or more items 
I used to make a lot of money from slicing, at least 25% of my income. Now? I have no idea what the hell is going on. Some of these components are selling for hundreds of k, some smugglers are slicing for free (the slices that need no component or the simple toolkit), and I've heard of people charging 250k for a slice.

To not make this another one of those "what do you charge" posts, I'll ask you this: Will the price of slicing ever stablize? Will customers want to get every one of their pieces of armor and weapons sliced like in the good ole days, or will the prices only make the uber weapons worth slicing?

I charge 25k a slice if they supply the components or if no components are needed. A tier 4 slice costs my customers 500k if not more depending on the amount of stock of items I have if I am supplying.
Regardless to say, I made +3m last night slicing around 10 items.
To answer your questions, I do not see slicing prices every going drastically down to what they use to. You can get a 60% customized weapon not even using components. There is still business out there for those not needing components because I've noticed alot of my customers come back to me with weapons they get sliced once, then a few days later get a part and want it sliced again, so forth.
I never see it going back to where EVERYONE gets EVERYTHING sliced. Heck, I don't even slice my armor.

Well the price depends on teh smugg you go to.
I needed a few things sliced and i had my own componets since most smuggs dont have tools on them.
1st smuggler wanted to charge me same type of tool used to slice as a fee. Basically meaning I needed 2 to get one thing sliced.
The second one said 50k per slice sinceI provided my own tools. Seeing that I needed to get 4 slices for the item making it 200k i said screw this
The last smugg did it for free and I tipped him 500k since he wasnt being greedy like the rest.
I had a full set of armor sliced and 2 guns sliced from scratch
So i figured out that they are eighter in two categories tey eighter charge way to much or they hook you up. If you do get stuff slice for free you should always tip them.

Maybe before you start flappin your gums about greed, you should respec and try slicing a full set of armor and a few guns. Get out your calculator and crunch the numbers on 9 pieces of armor by 3 or 4 slices by 3 selections and clicks each. Run along home and empty your inventoryso you can pack 20 slicing componentsin plus a suit of armor. Perhaps you enjoy taking a good half hour out of your schedule clicking buttons and doublechecking everything you do from the multitude of options available so you dont mess up someones 800k armor while someone is bugging you like a kid in the back seat "is it sliced yet? how is it coming? are you there? your not trying to rip me off are you? I only have 2000 credits blahblahblah"Maybe your time means nothing to you. Maybe you would like to be searching a vendor or fighting in space and getting spammed by people asking for free slices, and asking about components, and offering you delicate trigger assemblies for 400k and so on and so forth. A good 1/4 of my playing time every damn day now is answering questions like this and dodging insane sales pitches from loot whores and people who cant do the math on 6000FP X 115CPU is NOT 10,000 credits. Damn these people who think we are greedy (whether we are or not) need to be informed.

Nobody really knows what the prices will be until we get a lot more time to get a feel for demand vs. drop rates.
I don't slice, I just sell components now and I'm amazed at what people are willing to pay for slices. I had schematics for WUK/AUK and I'm cranking these out right now. I checked the galactic vendors and I'm the only person in the whole galaxy selling components - There is one other person selling 10 crates of 25 ea for a million a crate.
I started loading my vendor up (15k simple tool kit/30k fine tool kit/75k illegal core) and in the hour I was logged on I already had sold close to a million credits worth (400ish still on the vendor and another 24 crates in reserve.) This means for a level 3 damage slice people are willing to pay 120,000c just for the 3 components. This is just my pricing, I have no idea if they are turning around and slicing for 250-500k.
I might raise prices on the Illegal cores though as out of 400 salvages I only got 4.

My personal experience:
I also have a parts vendor, and on bria the prices are pretty crazy. I was one of the ones who pulled from crates before the publish, and to date my vendor has sold 20+ mil worth of slicing components. I do forsee the parts prices coming down, but not for a few weeks yet.

Ideally, the Devs will loosen up the drop rate on the parts and let us stack them while they're at it. That would go a long way to bringing the prices down to a more reasonable level.

Yeah, but the odds of that happening any time soon are slim to none, so for a while, slicing prices will remain high.

Let's see, I got 3+2+1=6 full houses of WUKs, my Y-8 & YT-1300 full, so thats 1400, plus odds and ends in my other 4 houses, so around 1500+ WUKs (I'm not really a fan of armor slicing, especially with loot, not worth it to slice a full set of armor). And I probably have another 200+ in crates that I need room to unpack.
