Thread: Anyone else still hitting the Trade bug?

It has been quite a while, but then twice in the last two nights I have hit the bug where, when trading with another player, you suddenly can't see each other's requests for a trade soa trade window never opens up.
On the first one, we simply went to my house near Coronet and by the time we got there, it worked.
Last night I was in the Village and was trying to return two containers I had sliced to a guy. I told him about the bug, described the crap that was in the containers, and fortunately he trusted me and just told me to delete them. He losta wookie robe and a really weak metal staff with a laughable DOT.
Now it seems like a couple of months ago I ran into this in Coronet bank trading with someone. We both did quick logouts (not reboots) and that did NOT fix the problem. However, it seems like I came up with an inventive way of making the problem go away at that time, and now I cant remember what I did. Anyone have any ideas?

Can someone at least tell me I'm not the only one? I don't want to be known as "...that poor, cursed Twi'lek over there..."

I don't know if it's the same thing...
But last night I was trying to trade with a guy on Dantooine. I would see his "So-and-so would like to trade with you.", then I'd send the return trade request and I would actually see the trade window come up. But he never got a trade window on his side, and the trade kept inexplicably cancelling...
I'm not exactly sure what's going on. That's the first trade I've tried in a week, and I logged out right after this, so I didn't try trading with anyone else after this happened.

that's a long time ago, but i did have some similar troubles, and was told to get away and come back, some 256m or more while having troubles with interactions with others players. I don't know if this still works (it did at this time, well almost everytime). Of course that's assuming that any of the 2 traders have no macro running, because this does cause trading cancelled for sure.

us smugglers in particular need a new interface (maybe like the ID's got their new interface) so we can slice things without having to actually trade the stuff... well i think so anyway

The many trade bugs I've experianced:
- For some reason cant accept the trade.
- You offer to trade with somone, then you get a message that that person wants to trade with you so you have to re-offer again.
- The trade constantly getting cancelled.
- Can't see the items in the trade window.

Heh, all that stuff happens to me, too. For a week or two I wasn't having the trade constantly cancelled bug, then the last couple days it's been noticeable--the only difference I can think of, outside a coding thing, is I've been in big groups since it's come back. Anyone have any insight on that?
I occasionally get the one where you can't see each other's trade requests, too, and once in a while it happens after I've sliced his items but before I've returned them. Sometimes relogging works, sometimes shuttling to another town works, but most times I just trade the items to someone nearby (particularly dudes I've just sliced for) and have them trade them back to the original customer. I suppose that'd get dicey with real high-end stuff, but I've never had someone try to cheat us yet.

Trade bugs, oh joy. *sigh*
Trade constantly cancels
- Stop all macros with /dump, so say your customer
- ungroup, often the trade cancels because someone in the group does SOMETHING, prolly bashing on Jantas or Quenkers, this goes to the customer aswell
Cant accept
- hit [Alt] twice
Cant see offers
- call a new trade, often helps
I offer to trade with somone, then I get a message that that person wants to trade with me so I have to re-offer again
- This is a time issue, I tend to wait for an offer from the customer
Trade requests dont reach the customer/me
- This is a real bug, shuttle, cross a server border, relog, reboot...
And of course... logging for 30 min helps with all above (and many more issues)

I've been hitting this bug on and off since launch. It seems that there were times when I had no problem but it often seems like people don't see my trade requests. It improved over the last couple of months but seems to be getting worse.
I am also seeing increased problems (especially on Dantooine) of trades auto-cancelling. It seems that at times, you can only put a certain number of items in the window before it cancels or the window stays open for an abnormally short period of time. Some things that seem to sometimes work for me:
- Try the trade using: radial menu, /trade, and dragging the item to the other player.
- Refrain from any conversation while trading.
- Dump all macros (Sometimes, it seems my COB macro gets in the way. Don't know why...)
As a last resort, you can carry a small generic houseand drop it so you can trade the items. However, that requires 2 spare lots. Only 1 if you are on an adventure planet with a small naboo house. Going either into or out of buildings didn't seem to help and I even had a guy follow me accross a server boundry but still had no luck. We ended up shuttling back to Tyrena so we could complete the trade.

yes, periodically.
If you get the 'can't accept trade' bug all you have to do is hit the ALT key twice, closing and reopening the screen. That has fixed it each and every time since back into beta for me.

Somtimes if your in a city the lag may cuz it. Run to area where there is less lag and try trading. Or if your in a house , go outside and trade. Just taking a few steps back helps too.
There use to be a time where chatting whould cancel the trade window. Sometimes this happens to.

have it alot yes, seems alot more in coro and in laggy places moving towards the gate in coro sometimes solves the problem
