I was just browsing the Pistoleer forum when I came upon this thread:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pistoleer&message.id=58948
Apparently there are some new Pistols and Carbines on TC along with some Wookiee swords. Apparently one of the pistols is for Master Smuggler and one for Master Bounty Hunter.
Caylin, have you heard any word about this? It would be pretty neat if this is really going to happen

We have no real idea of where the new guns will be certed, just one guy is dreaming they will be "master BH" and "master smuggler" cert because he is a master smuggler, master Bh, master pistoleer.
We honestly have no idea yet, but certainly smuggler will get their pistol once again (didn't smuggler have the scatter before?).

My question is how the hell do you become a Master Smuggler, Mastert BH, and a Master Pistoleer?

Well, If I was a bettin' Zab (and I am), mycreds would be on the SoroSuub "Renegade" as our pistol... if one of those appearing in the .tre files is infact ours.
The Renegade is describedin the d20 RPG's Arms and Equipment Guide: "The Renegade... has proved to be extremely popular with pirates, smugglers, and others who feel a need to have the largest gun in the room" -Wizards of the Coast, Arms and Equipment Guide, p. 12
This weapon is the be all and end all of the "superheavy" blaster pistoils until the New Jedi Order era when BlasTech returns fire, so to speak, with it's T-6 "Thunder".If the Devs keep with the established notes on this pistol (har!), it should be the biggest damage output, pistol-wise, thought likely not best DPS.
While we're on the subject, the Merr-Sonn Model 434 "DeathHammer" will likely end up in the hands of the BHs: "DeathHammers are common among bounty hunters and professional killers" -Wizards of the Coast, Arms and Equipment Guide, p. 9
I wouldnt put it past the devs to put one of the possible carbines in the grubby paws of the BH community, partucularly the messy Merr-Sonn Underslung Rotary Carbine, effectively a blaster varient of a mini-gun or gatling-gun with the punch of a T-21, bit none of the finesse. Think the scene in Preaditor where the mini-gun toting character decides to make cole-slaw out of the surrounding jungle in an effort to kill the unseen foe.

Well you can't, but I should've added, he has more than one toon, one with master BH master pistoleer and another with master smuggler and master pistoleer then another one with master commando and master something else.

Well, it would be nice to have a pistol cert, but I'm gonna go the skeptic route and say that there's no way the Dev's would give us something both new AND

Ok, did some snooping about and found the following links to a client side mod revealing the pistols... they got only one completely wrong.
DeathHammer: http://www.image-dump.com/view.php?m=2&x=16330
Alliance Disruptor?: http://www.image-dump.com/view.php?m=2&x=16329
Intimidator: http://www.image-dump.com/view.php?m=2&x=16332
Note: the Intimidator is completely wrong. The image they are using is a slightly bastardized version of the Kelvarek Consolidated Arms Dissuader KD-30, a slugthrower pistol.

Guys, Gals -
Going to be a little negative here, so be prepared.
Whether or not we get a new weapon changes nothing.
It's fluff, pure and simple - does it solve ANY of our profession's problems?
Does it fix our broken specials?
Does it make Underworld useful?
Does it make spices more valuable?
Does it make slicing more enjoyable and sensible?
Does it address the fact that a Master pistoleer/smuggler STILL fires slower than a rifleman?
Pistoleers are in the same position - they get more pistols but their specials still don't work....
In effect, time has been spent on new graphics and weapons which could have been spent on, ohhh I don't know, addressing anyone of our numerous and crippling issues. But no. Here's a shiny new toy for you to use all your broken specials with - now keep quiet until your revamp next March.
As an aside, what's the bet, if we do get a new pistol, that it's the same idea as the DE-10 - you have have to get it from a high end dungeon.....
You couldn't make this stuff up.
