I mean whats the point in you freezing them then hitting them with a heavy special, then they heal it...

it will also prevent the target from attacking, healing, or performing any action whatsoever.
but once you or anyone else damages that target, the Mezz breaks.

okay picture this? You're in an overt group and you come up against a group of the enemy overt.
Now the smart thing to do is attack any enemy smugglers with your 45 second paralysis. You then picking off one Jedi at a time with the paralysis. Your group now has 2-3 people to attack rather than a whole group of 8. The other trick is to use a none dot area commando weapon. You paralysis everyone for 45 seconds and your group takes them out one at a time while all they can do is sit there and watch for 45 seconds while your group destroys them.
You are on your self and you run into two enemy overts. You paralysis one and now it's a one on one fight. You need to death blow but if you get attacked by the other person in that 10 second warm up time it will break. So you paralysis and have all the time in the world to deathblow.
You are losing a fight and you need 30 seconds before taking your next stim. You paralysis and wait for your timers take the stim and fight again. Since they cannot heal, fight back you know have the advantage.
You are in a large scale battle. One of the enemy has strayed to far and has been rooted with stopping shot. Your team start hammering him but a doctor, jedi CM run up and about to heal him before he can bite the dust. You paralysis the healer preventing the saving heal.
A root is alll well in good but a paralysis used correctly is deadly.
