Thread: I'm getting sick and tired of this!

I'm really starting to get annoyed by the tone of some of the people posting around here. Everytime I log on to the Smuggler Forum I notice more and more people bashing their fellow Smugglers. This used to be the best forum on the boards, now it's beginning to diminish into a bash fest.

I see people getting flamed because they come here to vent.

I see people overreacting simply because the didn't read the entire post, or just simply missed the point of it.

I see the united front devoted to actually smuggling giving in to the same childish antics that I see on other forums.

Enough is enough. I'm not going to name names, but just because it doesn't apply to you, doesn't mean it doesn't mean anything to the rest of the people who post here. Just because you think a suggestion is as good as the poster did, doesn't mean it needs to be beaten into oblivion.

Do me a favor and chill out already... I think we're in need of another round of Colt 45s these days!

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Torture has a way of causing the tortured to bond.

Some of us have been waiting since SWG's release for a viable fix to our profession. I'd say thats torture.

Regardless, I love my fellow smuggler.

Well I was only able to play after the game was live for 2 months... so I'm an almost since launch Smugglers... I still feel the pain everyday, but this place makes it more bearable... which is why I'll fight tooth and nail to keep others from going at each others necks.

I just wish there wasn't the torture part causing the bonding process.

I see people getting flamed because they come here to vent.

I usualy only flame when it's acomplaint at random slices by other proffessionsor when the person hasn't been bothered to read the FAQ stickies. I really really hate it when I see 3 posts all asking "What's the the difference between master and slicer" or 3 post asking for "Need to Buy Faction" threads.

I see people overreacting simply because the didn't read the entire post, or just simply missed the point of it.

I never overreact Okay I sometimes do when I see 3 posts all asking "What's the the difference between master and slicer" or 3 post asking for "Need to Buy Faction"threads.

I see the united front devoted to actually smuggling giving in to the same childish antics that I see on other forums.

To be honest I don't read the "I have a new idea on smuggling DEVS please read" threads anymore. They are not new and the DEVs arn't going to read them and if they do their not going to implenment something that only a handful of people think is a good idea.

To be honest it takes me quite a bit to get worked up especialy when it's a game. In some ways the days when "your revamp is coming next publish" was better people were happy, I think it turned sour when thatpromise was broken. Still weare still alot better than all the other proffesional forums I read. Pistoleer, TKM, Rifleman, Swordsman, Bounty Hunter.

If you read most of the posts they are flame free, some turn nasty but not every single one.

Like I said, I wasn't pointing fingers mate, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't specificly talking to you.I too get tired of the "your revamp", "what do you think about the FD problem", and "Slice/Master" posts. I try to politely point to the stickies, answer their question, or as gently as I can point out the error of their post. Where I am having a problem these days are the Smugglers that have seen fit to turn on themselves. Granted I can tell the difference between those who love Smuggler and what it should be, and those who took it on for other reasons, but I refuse to distinguish between the two.

To state it simply, we must stop turning on ourselves. Take the beating to those who deserve it!

Doesn't anyone else find it amusing that the person who wrote this above quote has "Hemlock" in their name?

Anyway, it might be a good idea to try to reign in the sour grapes a bit - this is a game and we're supposed to play it and enjoy it. Granted, we have every right to be angry and supicious and not trusting; but its really not worth the ulcer that we'll get if we keep that rage going.

The revamp will happen or it wont. We need to stand united if we are to have any hope of playing a good role in its implementation.

Oh yes! Let's all have a turn of heart.

Can someone please start another thread about slicing being non-random? So we can all curtsie and explain politely why we really don't think so but we'll all be happy to test out the 'new' slicing prediction theory the moment we get on-line?

Look, the problem is that for nearly two years we have been having the same old topics recur ad nauseum. NOTHING has happened to our profession that in any way would generate new topics of conversation. My god, we've resorted to making a three page thread from a mis-post titled ".", doesn't that tell you SOMETHING?

After a while seeing the same old BS posts recur for the billionth time gets rather annoying and would obliterate most people's patience. One often turns to sarcasm when utterly without hope. I actually look forward to the next non-random slicing posts, FD post or master/slicer % post JUST so I can see how well we are all honing our sarcasm.
