After a weekend of zipping around space, Kashyyyk, space again, more Kashyyyk, then dodging Nightsisters on Dathomir, I'm in my favorite cantina kicking back with some Jawa juice, admiringthe new space ship in my datapad, handed to me by Lord Vader himself!

The entertainers - so few now - were tending to my fatigue and giving me inspiration when I heard the familar ping announcing a direct message.

A potential customer had come calling for quick Faction Points. I named my price. 125 credits per point.

"LOL!!11!! U r stupid? I can get teh faction ponts for 110 everyware."

*Note to self: Ticket to CSR asking for new title. "A**hat Magnet" will do nicely.*

So I offer to "negotiate". Big mistake. First of all, it's a word with more than two syllables and second this guy probably thinks that "dictionary" is a book about male genitalia. Obviously the conversation gets bogged down while I frantically page through my d3\/\/DsP34|< - to - English reference guide so I can understand what he's saying. The gist of his conversation is he won't pay me 125 credits per faction point, and I'm not getting anywhere offering to lower my price.

Finally frustration sets in so I tell him out of character that I'm trying to RP a *Smuggler* . Big mistake. According to LOL-boi no one RP's in an RPG.

Frustration from him standing on my *last* nerve sets in, and I tell him to go find another Smuggler that will sell him his FP at 110 per. The whining begins. It's late, no other smugglers are on, he really needs the FP right now.

I went ballistic. Seriously. What kind of idiot acts like a fool, then expects anything from another person? Are people really so stupid that they don't realize while they are anonymous in the game, their actions speak for them?

Anyways, I nuked the guy before I put him on ignore. So... not sure if he'll report me or not and if action will be taken if he does. Needless to say my idea to play a little SWG for fun was shot, so I logged off for the evening.

As far as I'm concerned, he's getting off cheap. I charge 150.

If he told me that he needed the FP *now* and no other smugglers were on, my response would have been "Oh, I'm sorry. My mistake. The price is 200 credits per point."

I feel that I need to work on my PvP skills just for moments like that.

I had a moment like that not too long ago. I charge 120cpu, was told to charge 100cpu because "others are doing it."I stood my ground and sure enough he came back the next day. Anything below 120 is sorta ripping yourself off; I only go lower for buddies.

It seems that 110 is the going price on Chimaera, which I think is insanely low.

and now that we Smugglers have stuff that is more useful in combat, maybe we can kill off these idiots. or at least vent some of our frustrations towards them.

True enough. I suppose nothing says "This conversation is over" quite so eloquently as a Scatter Pistol blast to the face eh?

Aye though I've noticed that FP costs on Bria generally range from about 110-120 for imperial and 100-110 for rebel on average on Bria. (Rebel being cheaper due to the CoA bonus obviously)

Also another fun thing I use to my advantage when buying FP at least is to get an entertainer buff. As oddly that 10 percent bonus also gets applied to purchased FP. Glee!

And if your feeling nice about things get your customer to get one too. They'll also recieve a 10 percent bonus to FP delegated to them.

As big as the galaxy is, the chances of meeting idiots is almost 100 percent. Just gotta have an RP method of dealing with them. Mine came this weekend in Mos Eisley when I got accosted by a young panhandler demanding money. I told him to go to the Imperial Welfare Office and ask to see the Director, a guy named Vader...he'd be taken care of. He actually asked "are you mocking me?" I responded "Of course I'm mocking you, you idiot! Go take some delivery missions and earn some money yourself." Before he started whining I put him on my ignore list.

It is sort of fun to figure out roleplay responses for l33t idiots. Of course, a blaster bolt to the kneecaps can be satisfying, too.

A dedicated Role Play server wouldn't totally solve the problem, but it would cut down on *some* of that mess. Personal experience in other games have validated that for me.

Also remember that this is a game open to all ages. You will run into your share of children, it's just a fact.

An RP server would have to be modified to be detrimental to powergaming but beneficial to RPing, otherwise it would be flooded by powergamers looking for a new server to be the leetest on.

I would say it would either have to be a once-a-week green frog server, or a server the increases xp requirements or something similar. Make it a waste of time for people who are not going to RP.
